Tim Dinsdale Former MD at Goldman Sachs Joins OpenFin as Euro Area CTO

OpenFin, the finance based operating system provider announced earlier today that Tim Dinsdale has joined the firm as Chief Technology Officer for Euro area market region. In his new role as CTO, Tim is expected to lead the firm’s technology efforts across European market and oversee the firm’s London based development team while also ensuring the expansion of their desktop service initiatives on global market. As per report published by the company, Tim will be reporting directly to OpenFin’s President and COO, Chuck Doerr. Prior to joining OpenFin, Tim served as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. Before his entry into financial sector, Tim worked in gaming industry having served as software engineer at Sony Computer Entertainment team in Europe as part of team handing Play Station related tasks and as C++ developer at video game developing firm Kuju Ltd.

When speaking about his new role as CTO at OpenFin, Tim Dinsdale commented, “This is a great time to be joining OpenFin. It’s a business that’s truly transforming how we work in financial services. Having spent 15 years at Goldman Sachs, I am keenly aware of the value of fintech collaborations in speeding up go-to-market strategies and allowing large institutions to focus on their core competencies rather than the infrastructure that makes it happen. OpenFin is already working with 22 major banks to help them solve business challenges and support their digital transformation strategies and I am excited to be part of this journey”. During his 15 year tenure at Goldman Sachs, Tim has served in various roles in capacity of a technology officer in front and middle office on the equity structured product desk.

When speaking about Tim’s appointment as CTO at OpenFin, Chuck Doerr was quoted saying, “We are delighted to welcome Tim to the OpenFin team and look forward to working with him on delivering our European technology strategy as we look to accelerate the pace of innovation and collaboration not only across our ecosystem of banks, buy-side, sell-side and fintech firms, but also the industry at large”. Recently OpenFin was in news for raising nearly $17 million in a series C fundraising which saw contribution from major players in industry such as Barclays, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Bain Capital Ventures and Pivot Investment Partners. OpenFin OS has become the de-facto digital infrastructure provider for capital market firms and technology companies building solutions to support them – enabling digital transformation at speed and Offering application interoperability and seamless deployment as a standard.
