Rayls unlock shift cuts 1.12bn RLS from near-term float
Rayls unlock terms replace one insider cliff with monthly RLS from May 2027. The issuer's table shows 1.12 billion fewer tokens in circulation by year-end.

The Rayls unlock for investors and the team has moved off a single cliff and onto a four-year monthly drip. That Rayls unlock is the release schedule for RLS, the token of Rayls' institutional chain, and the revision reschedules those tokens rather than cutting the 10 billion maximum. On October 29, 2026, Alex Buelau set out on the Rayls blog that the December 2026 block is cancelled, with investor and team RLS unlocking in equal monthly amounts for four years from May 1, 2027, and the last release in April 2031.
Rayls' table puts 1,124.7 million fewer RLS unlocking through 2027: 769.0 million from investors and the team, and 355.7 million from Parfin's August extension. That sum is the 1.12 billion in the post's headline, and it is tighter than the Rayls account's October 28 line of approximately 1.2 billion tokens and around 25%. Projected circulating supply, defined there as RLS unlocked and free to trade, falls from 4.81 billion at the end of 2027 to 3.69 billion. The post calls that 23.4% less.
What December still withholds
On the old investor and team plan, 467.6 million RLS would have unlocked at the December 2026 cliff and a further 954.6 million during 2027, for 1,422.2 million through that year. The new column shows 653.2 million during 2027, 54.1% less for that sleeve. From May 1, 2027, one forty-eighth of each investor and team allocation unlocks each month, 81.7 million RLS in total. The December residual is separate: 467.6 million from investors and the team plus 108.1 million from Parfin. Adding those two components gives 575.7 million RLS, a different cut from the 1.12 billion full-year gap. Two unlock calendars can disagree on size while a scraped feed still carries the old cliff.
Parfin's lock and the team promise
Parfin's allocation is already locked onchain. On August 6, 2026, Buelau wrote that Parfin postponed its unlock from December 2026 to December 2027 and moved 1,070,493,535 RLS, approximately 11% of the 10 billion maximum, onto the Rayls Public Chain. He called the extension a voluntary choice rather than a contractual requirement. The balance and its 48 monthly release dates are in that contract on the Rayls explorer. That August post put the allocation at about $2 million. Team tokens, the October note says, will be locked on the same pattern, and that wording is prospective. Rayls names the RLS listing on CoinMarketCap and the transparency portal as the pages being brought into line.
The foundation tap keeps running
The foundation sleeve stays on its old clock. A March 20, 2026 treasury note said the remaining 35% of supply releases linearly at one forty-eighth a month from the token generation event on December 1, 2025. The April mainnet note states that sleeve as 3.5 billion RLS, the portion unlocking on a regular basis. Dividing 3.5 billion by 48 gives about 72.9 million RLS a month. The October 29 post is silent on that formula, so near-term float can still climb on the foundation path while the insider cliff stays shut.
Alex Buelau, co-founder at Parfin, wrote:
"Our investors and team have agreed to keep their $RLS locked for longer. The big unlock planned for December 2026 is cancelled. Instead, their tokens will unlock in equal amounts every month for four years, starting in May 2027."
Buybacks have burned 58,527,173.39 RLS, the same post says, so total supply stands at 9,941,472,826.61 RLS against a 10 billion maximum that the note says still holds. Half of network fees buy RLS for burning, and the other half goes to validator rewards and community growth, the October post says. The September 17, 2025 tokenomics note put investors at 22%, contributors at 17%, and the technology provider at 11%, which matches Parfin's 1.07 billion.
Desks that already handle tokenised money-market share classes and atomic settlement between stablecoins and tokenised deposits are the comparison set for the float those desks warehouse.
What clears the new schedule
The next few weeks are a publication test rather than a price call. If the portal and the CoinMarketCap panel list May 2027 as the first insider month, screeners on the digital-assets desk will be on the new clock. A team lock on the explorer, comparable to Parfin's address, would confirm the second promise. Models that still add 467.6 million RLS in December are marking a cliff the issuer says is cancelled. Until those pages match, the published Rayls unlock and a scraped calendar are telling different stories.
