Max Hayden Joins IG Group as New Global Head of Institutional Sales

IG Group, a UK based provider of CFD derivatives trading and spread betting services recently revealed in an announcement that it has made a new addition, Max Hayden, to its senior-level leadership team.

As per the statement, the leading online trading service provider has on-boarded Mr. Max Hayden to serve as the firm’s new global head of institutional sales. In his new role as Global Head for the division, Max will be responsible for strengthening the firm’s institutional business in order to move forward with its plans for wider strategic investment for growth.

The incoming executive is a veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the prime brokerage field. Prior to joining IG Group, he served as Chief Executive Officer for ITI Capital – a private equity-owned brokerage that covered both institutional and retail clients in global market executive. 

Before his term with ITI Capital, he served as Managing Director for nearly 3 years at BCS Global Markets – a Russia based specialist broker. As Managing Director at the firm, he was responsible for the development of the company’s prime brokerage division. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades serving under Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he held multiple senior-level management roles.

At BOA Merrill Lynch, he served as Head of the Prime Brokerage Platform, however, he was originally a member of Merrill Lynch International prior to the merger between the two American financial service providers. At Merrill Lynch, he held the roles of Head of Operational Risk, Business/Product development, Co-Head of Prime Brokerage Platform and COO of Global Equity Finance. He began his career in the financial services industry as part of Scott Goff Layton’s Floor Brokered Options Trading team. 

Aside from his new role at IG Group, he is also serving as Director of Milvus hill Limited and owner of Elkhorn Consulting Limited. In his new role as leader of the institutional sales division, Max will be based out of the firm’s London office and will be reporting directly to Fouad Bajjjali – CEO of IG Bank SA and IG’s Global Institutional Business unit.

Commenting on Max’s addition to the team, Fouad said, “Max has a proven track record of client focus and helping to develop businesses. His appointment demonstrates our clear commitment to grow and build our institutional business, which is a key growth opportunity within IG’s wider strategy of achieving a 30% increase in revenue by FY22. Max will manage a growing global team with a focus on the UK, Switzerland, Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Asia-Pacific and will address the specific needs of hedge funds and family offices”.
