Karthik Subramanian has been a professional trader and fund manager over the last 18 years. He is basically a software developer who made the transition to financial domain around 18 years back as the attractiveness of the financial markets proved too much for him. He lives in Chennai in India along with his wife and son. He began his career as a software developer in 1999 and then gradually moved into the financial industry as he began trading stocks in his pastime. He then moved into the financial markets full time and then shifted his focus to the FX markets due to the liquid nature of these markets. Since then, he has been trading FX diligently and his favourite pair are the EURUSD and EURJPY. Over the last couple of years, he has found blockchain to be of high interest and considering his background in software and finance, he has since assembled a team of highly talented developers who have since worked on a variety of projects like crypto exchanges and blockchain architecturing. Now, he balances his time between trading and commenting on both the FX and crypto markets. He has worked with many publications including FX Street and Finance Magnates, which has helped him gain experience and also recognition across the industry. He loves to write and this passion has helped him to reach out across the FX and crypto industry. Right now, he works on his pet projects in the FX and crypto industry and spends his time writing and managing his blockchain team and helping it to reach higher.


Joanna Nader Appointed as TP ICAP’s Global Head of Strategy

TP ICAP - Joanna NaderTP ICAP, the London based financial service provider also touted as world’s largest interdealer broker has made a new addition to its leadership team less than a month after announcing appointment of new global head of compliance. According to an update released by the firm, it has hired industry veteran Joanna Nader to serve as its new Global Head of Strategy. Joanna is a veteran with more than two decades of experience serving in industry-leading firms and is an expert in equity, capital markets and risk management. Before joining TP ICAP in her new role earlier this month, she served as Managing Director of Canadian investment banking firm RBC Capital Markets based out of the firm’s London office for 15 months. During her term at the firm, she also led its Diversified/ Specialty Financials Research division as the unit’s head alongside her duties as Managing Director.

Prior to her tenure at RBC Capital Markets, Joanna spent a bulk of her career serving in JRJ Group and Lehman Brothers which makes up two-thirds of her entire career. Joanna spent nearly a decade in private equity-focused financial service provider JRJ Group as its Chief Investment Officer and spent nearly nine years prior to that in investment banking and financial services provider Lehman Brothers in roles of Senior Vice President of Equity Research and Senior Vice President/Chief of Staff for Office of CEO Europe, Middle East and Asia market region. As Senior Vice President of Equity Research, she was the lead analyst covering European Investment Banks and Banks from Greece & Israel focusing and was in charge of Strategy, M&A and JV projects when serving in role of Senior Vice President/Chief of Staff for Office of CEO.

Joanna started her career as an Economist and Senior Analyst at BMO Financial Group and served as executive of Risk Management division at CIBC and BMO Financial Group and has also served as Manager for Financial Services Business Consulting at Arthur Andersen & Co – a UK based management consulting firm as per information in her LinkedIn profile. Commenting on Nader’s appointment at the firm, Nicolas Breteau, Chief Executive Officer of TP ICAP said, “I am very pleased Joanna has agreed to join TP ICAP.
