Capital One Financial Corporation, a Virginia based holding firm famous for its credit card, auto loan and banking services recently revealed in an announcement that it has hired a new executive to be part of its senior-level management team.
As per the statement released by the firm, it has hired Mr. Jamie Henderson to serve as its Executive Vice President and head of Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Henderson’s new role at the firm begins in January of 2020, and he will be reporting directly to Michael Slocum, President of Commercial Banking and North-East Market at Capital One. Mr. Henderson is a veteran with more than 20 years of experience in commercial real estate management.
He is currently serving as a Partner of Ares Management L.P., a leading global alternative asset manager with AUM worth more than US$100 Billion focused on private equity, credit, and real estate investments.
Aside from his role as partner, he also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Ares Commercial Real Estate and as head of the group’s real estate debt department and has been a part of the firm for two years and eight months as per information in his LinkedIn profile.
He began his career in real estate and financial service sector post graduating with an MBA degree in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Some of his most notable roles include – Vice President of Development & General Manager at Old Castle, Partner at Aspen Square Management and Head of Structured Real Estate Investments & CIO Alternative Investments at Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers where he spent a major part of his multi decade long career having served at the firm for eleven and a half years.
Commenting on Jamie’s appointment, Mr. Slocum – President of Commercial Banking at Capital One said, “Jamie is a seasoned real estate lender and investor with both private and public company leadership experience across multiple asset categories. Combined with his experience in building diverse, high performing teams, I have full confidence that Jamie is the best person to lead and grow our commercial real estate business”.
