BCS Global Markets has appointed Evelina Evtimova as Head of Legal and Compliance at the investment banking services provider of Russia’s largest independent broker.
Providing support across business lines and geographies, including Russia, the UK, the US, and Cyprus, Evtimova will be tasked with streamlining controls, aligning policies and procedures across BCS Financial Group, as well as introducing new technology and leading legal and compliance projects and initiatives.
The industry veteran, with over 25 years in legal and compliance departments of major Russian and global financial institutions, will bring a great deal of experience to BCS GM.
She joins BCS Global Markets from Sova Capital, where she was Country Head of Compliance for two and a half years, based in Moscow.
Prior to that, Evtimova was Head of Legal at Barclays Capital from 2011 to 2017 and first rose to the top at Credit Suisse, where she worked from 1998 to 2011 at the Moscow branch and became Head of Legal and Compliance for the first time. At the dawn of her career, Evelina worked as a lawyer at major Russian investment firm Aton.
Evelina has been a member of NAUFOR’s Legal Committee for over 10 years and is currently a member of the Legal Committee of the Moscow Exchange. She holds a master’s degree in law from Moscow State University.
