BCS Global Markets Appoints Maxim Safonov as Head of Capital Markets & Investment Banking

BCS Global MarketsBCS Global Markets, the London headquartered financial service provider recently revealed the addition of a new executive to its senior-level leadership team.

As per the announcement made by the firm in its official LinkedIn account, it has hired Mr. Maxim Safonov to serve as Senior Managing Director and Head of its Capital Markets and Investment Banking division. To those who are unfamiliar with the firm, BCS Global Markets is a financial service provider that deals in a wide range of services such as prime brokerage, investment banking, asset management, custody, and advisory services to clients from both institutional and retail categories.

More commonly known as Capital Markets Specialist and Technology innovator, the firm has a well-established presence in all major global market regions namely – US, UK, Europe, and Russia. 

The firm primarily targets clients based out of Russia and Eastern European nations. In his new role as Head of Capital Markets & Investment banking divisions, Maxim is responsible for handling the departments’ business operations across Moscow, London, Cyprus & New York. Aside from being responsible for the day-day business operations of said departments.

Mr. Safonov is also expected to work towards designing market and investment banking strategy and executing the firm’s plans for a major expansion in the capital market & investment banking sector in order to boost existing market share while adding new clients. Maxim will work from two of the firm’s offices located in London and Moscow and report directly to Dr. Roman Lokhov current Chief Executive Officer of the group. Before joining BCS Global Markets, Maxim served as Head of Local Rates and Credit Trading for the EMEA region at HSBC and held the role for nearly two and a half years. 

During his multi-decade long career in the financial services industry, he has also held senior-level roles at Sberbank CIB, HSBC Russia, ING Bank Russia, and a few other firms.
