Barclays Appoints Craig Stine as VP of FIG Banking

Barclays, a leading UK headquartered multinational banking and financial services provider revealed the appointment of Mr. Craig Stine as Vice President of its FIG banking unit in its latest announcement. As per statement released by the firm, this move is expected to come into effect from October of 2020. The incoming executive is a seasoned veteran in financial services industry with nearly three decades of experience focusing on speciality banking services. Craig is currently serving as Executive Vice Chairman of Global Financial Institutions Group (FIG) unit at Credit Suisse. Craig has been a part of Credit Suisse for nearly ten years now having joined the firm back in August of 2011.

Before taking up his current role at Credit Suisse, he served as Co-Chief Executive Officer and Co-Head of Investment Banking division at Citadel Securities for brief period of 1 year and 8 months. Craig began his career in financial services industry as a member of Citi Group and spent more than 17 years at the firm as he worked his way up the firm’s internal corporate ladder. At time of his resignation from the firm in August of 2009 he served as the financial service provider’s Co-Head of Financial Institutions Group for North American market region. Craig holds a Bachelors degree in economics from Hobart College and an MBA degree from Temple University.

Speaking about Craig’s addition to the team, Tim Main – Global Head of FIG Banking at Barclays said “Craig’s deep industry knowledge, long-established partner relationships, and extensive transactional expertise will generate tremendous value for our clients. These qualities, combined with his proven leadership capabilities and experience, make him a superb addition to our FIG Banking platform and our broader Banking franchise”.

Speaking on same note, John Miller – Global Head of Banking Coverage at Barclays added “Our FIG Banking team is achieving outstanding results and momentum in what is a critical sector of focus within our Investment Banking business. Craig’s appointment will strengthen our ability to provide best in class strategic advice and execution, and is further evidence of Barclays’ commitment to expand our global team of highly experienced bankers to deliver a superior value proposition for our clients”.

It should also be noted that the firm onboarded Mr. Gautam Chawla to serve as Vice Chairman of its FIG Banking unit in June earlier this year.
