XTB Institutional sets product-level terms on 24/7 CFDs

XTB Institutional sets product-level terms on 24/7 CFDs

XTB Institutional is extending 24/7 contracts for difference (CFDs) for brokers and banks, and it wants each contract read on its own terms. The range includes 24/7 CFDs based on tokenised shares such as Google, Tesla, NVIDIA and SpaceX. Separately, it includes a 24/7 gold CFD based on tokenised PAX Gold. The firm presents these as distinct examples, not as one set of conditions applied across the book.

Round-the-clock gold is already being treated as its own market. Weekend gold CFDs at FOREX.com went live as XAU/USD 7-Day on July 25, 2026, and weekday and weekend exposure on that brand do not net in the same account. By late August, seven brokers were quoting some form of weekend gold. XTB's note draws the same kind of line on the liquidity side: a round-the-clock book in one category says nothing about whether another market can, or should, work the same way.

The test for a broker is whether institutional liquidity and execution can support access once the standard session has ended. Fixed sessions have long governed instrument availability, client support, liquidity and risk. More products now trade outside those hours, and selected instruments offer access around the clock. Some clients want flexibility around work hours or time zones. Others want to react when news breaks after the close. The operational load stays with the broker.

Listing the name is the easy step

Putting an instrument on the menu is straightforward. Pricing, how an order is filled and the operations behind them are not. Liquidity can thin once the peak session passes, and accepting an order says little about the fill. Terms depend on a product's structure and its schedule, and they should not be assumed to carry to another contract even when both track a similar underlying asset.

The line is sharpest where a product gives exposure to an asset whose own market still keeps set hours. Extended access may rest on pricing and liquidity that belong to that product alone, and should not be read across to other instruments on the same asset. Brokers need to say what is available, when it trades and which terms apply to each 24/7 instrument, and to describe each product as itself rather than as blanket access across an asset class.

A wider range can open more ways to serve clients, but availability, pricing, liquidity and execution are connected, not interchangeable. Past the share and gold examples, the offer still covers liquidity and execution access, deep order books and multi-asset coverage. The point is how an institution supports changing access, not how many names it lists.

Hours were already a product choice

A broker cannot weigh extended access on its own. The partners behind an offering help decide which instruments can be made available and on what terms. For banks and brokers, broad multi-asset liquidity, workable arrangements and dependable execution feed into which products get built and how they are run. Needs differ by instrument, by client base and by operating model, so the partner choice reaches past the first pass at coverage.

XTB Institutional supplies that access, backed by the infrastructure and experience of XTB Group. The offer spans multi-asset market access, reliable execution and relationship-led support for professional market participants. The arm took the group name in place of X Open Hub, a change set out at iFX EXPO, and the rebrand left the liquidity and execution business in place while putting the XTB name in front of brokers and banks.

Hours on this desk have already been changed one window at a time. From July 3, 2026, XTB Institutional lengthened Friday trading to 23:00 CEST/CET and added COCOA.EU, COFFEE.EU, NATGAS.EU, ORANGE and SUGAR.EU. That step widened one end-of-week session. It did not reset the terms of every other instrument. The 24/7 note is the next move on availability, and it keeps the same limit. Read the contract in front of you.

No single model fits every market. What a round-the-clock instrument needs depends on how it is built and on the terms it trades under. Treating availability as the whole story misses what makes an offering work. The next phase of access is an operational question as much as a product one. The release gives no effective date, no spread and no comment from a named executive.

Firms that want to talk through what 24/7 market access could mean for their own book can contact the XTB Institutional team.
