Unichain schedules OP Enterprise mainnet move for October 29
Uniswap Labs set Unichain's OP Enterprise mainnet migration for October 29. The chain ID and Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 stay; bridge-free ETH interop has no date.

Uniswap Labs has put a date on an operations change at Unichain, and it is not an interoperability launch. Its October 9, 2026 post says Unichain is moving to OP Enterprise ahead of native interoperability across the OP Stack. Testnet migrates on October 13. Mainnet follows in late October, and the note then sets that migration on October 29. Chain ID, contracts, balances, apps, and the Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 deployments are described as unchanged.
Once interop is live, users can move assets, starting with Ethereum (ETH), between Unichain and other OP Stack chains without a bridge. October 29 does not date that path. DeFiLlama historical chain total value locked (TVL) was $27.1 million on October 9 and $26.4 million on October 17, so deposits did not rise with the post. The same series had OP Mainnet at $443.5 million on October 17, and Unichain was just under 6% of it. Optimism's June 18 note already names that pair as the first interop target and says a bridge is still required. It gives no ship date.
What October 9 leaves open
For users, Uniswap Labs says nothing changes. Unichain stays a Stage 1 rollup with permissionless fault proofs. Contract upgrades sit under Optimism Governance and the Security Council, "as they do today." Optimism runs sequencers on mainnet and testnet, plus RPC, monitoring and incident response. Only the governance line carries that phrase. The post never says whether the sequencers change hands on October 29 or were already Optimism's.
June 18 separates Fully Managed, where OP Labs runs the sequencer, batcher and proposer, from Self Managed, where the customer keeps the sequencer. The Unichain note never picks one, and it skips the Mission Critical add-on that cites a 99.95% uptime level. L2BEAT, read on October 17, still showed Stage 1, chain ID 130, ETH as the gas token and $86.67 million secured, wider than DeFiLlama chain TVL, with 50.2% under extra trust assumptions. Stage 2 still lacked a 30-day exit on upgrades that are not onchain provable bugs, and a Security Council limited to those bugs. The note does not close either gap. Cross-chain volume over the prior 24 hours was $2.62 million on 543 transfers.
Ink named a tier. This note does not
The precedent is Ink, not a new comment from Aave or Coinbase. On June 23, 2026, Optimism said Ink, a Layer 2 (L2) on the OP Stack, was moving to OP Enterprise Fully Managed, with the cutover landing in August, the chain ID and the apps unchanged, and Optimism taking production. The October note keeps the "nothing changes" half and drops the tier. Uniswap Labs signs it, quotes no executive and logs no reply from other venues. The Launches tab on Robinhood Chain points the other way, at a token list that does not live on Unichain.
Zach Le, head of strategy at the Ink Foundation, said on that June 23 post: "Running a blockchain in production is a unique operational challenge. That's why we picked Optimism, the team behind the stack Ink is built on, to operate the network. The next phase of onchain finance demands a chain operated by those with the technical depth to prioritize reliability and security in everything they do." The lines refer to Ink. They give no interop date. The Unichain post does not either.
What to verify before October 29
A sequencer plan is not a new exit rail. Bridge-free movement stays later, and ETH-first, until interop is live. The AFX Trade loss, reported at $24 million of USDC after validator keys on an Arbitrum bridge were compromised, is a hole this note does not claim to close. Contracts and balances stay. Blast wound down when costs beat revenue, and this chain's TVL is a thin base for a private sequencer desk: a reason to have Optimism run production, not a sign deposits are arriving. Aave Arc, reported here at $57,000, shows how small permissioned institutional books remain.
October 29 is scheduled, not completed. The October 9 post still says mainnet migrates that day and does not report the move as finished. The testnet line, October 13, also states no result, though that day has passed. Chain ID 130 should still reach the same contracts, and Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 on the chain should be unchanged. ETH on OP Mainnet without a bridge would need a later note from Uniswap Labs or Optimism. October 29, on the pages out now, is not that day.
