Tether Capital invests in AIsa without a stated size

Tether Capital invested in AIsa on October 15 and did not price the stake. AIsa says total funding now exceeds $9 million, against $6.5 million on July 3.

Tether Capital said on October 15, 2026 that it had made a strategic investment in AIsa, and the note did not price the stake. A GlobeNewswire release the same day, issued by AIsa and carried on Markets Insider, said a seed extension with Tether and HIVEN takes total funding to more than $9 million. Tether's announcement does not confirm that total, does not name HIVEN, and does not say what share is its own capital. Read together, the buyer publishes the use case and withholds the price. The company publishes a cumulative total and withholds the split.

What the two notes disagree on

The parallel on this desk is a payments standard, not a token listing. AIsa, on Tether's description, sells the call: one interface, a bill in fiat or stablecoins, and a spending cap the business sets. That sits beside work already filed here: Visa, Mastercard and Amex on the x402 body, Natural's agentic payment rails, Causa Prima's seed for agent billing, and Baselayer's checks on AI agents. Tether's October 15 note records no comment from any of them, nor from Coinbase or Binance. On the only page the buyer published, the response is silence.

The note describes purchasing systems still built for people: a separate account, subscription or contract before an agent can reach a paid source. AIsa combines access and payment. Developers connect an agent to models, data, application programming interfaces (APIs), software tools and computing through one interface, billed in fiat or stablecoins, with the limit set by the business. A market-research agent, Tether's example, can pull paid data without a fresh subscription for every source. The counts are AIsa's, not an audit: more than 250,000 agents running, over 100 million transactions, and more than 5,000 APIs, skills and models through one key, paid per call. The note defines none of those units, and it does not say what share settled in a stablecoin.

AIsa's news post of July 3, 2026 put total funding to date at $6.5 million, in a seed co-led by Alibaba and Tribe Capital, with Draper Associates, Sumitomo Corporation and Saison Capital. From February to June 2026, AIsa said registered agent users grew 150-fold and aggregate API calls and transactions grew 200-fold, and that more than 50,000 registered agents had joined without paid marketing. Impossible Finance was the named customer. The October phrase, more than 250,000 agents, is not the same count, and neither company has published a bridge from "registered agents" to "agents running." AIsa's news index, opened on October 16, 2026, still led with the July 3 item and carried no post on the extension.

What Ardoino and Liu said

"As AI agents take on more work, people need a way to give them access to services while keeping control over what they spend," said Paolo Ardoino, chief executive of Tether. Jordan Liu, founder and chief executive of AIsa, told the wire: "Enterprise AI agents need trusted information, useful tools and a governed way to transact." He added that the firm was "excited to welcome Tether and HIVEN as strategic investors." AIsa's account later on October 15 repeated a total above $9 million. A reply the same minute called the new investor Hiven (CJ group). That parenthetical is the only identification of HIVEN either firm has given.

Tether sets the stake next to NEURA Robotics. That earlier investment, the note says, included plans to put the Wallet Development Kit (WDK) and QVAC into robotic systems so machines can run AI locally and transact inside preset limits. WDK is for self-custodial wallets. QVAC is meant to run AI on a user's device, and Tether does not spell the name out. Tether's note puts the same limit on an agent that buys data and compute. The October wire lists permissions, budgets, spending limits, approval workflows and audit trails.

What is still unpublished

Tether Capital, the note says, is the independent investment arm of Tether, based in El Salvador, deploying capital from Tether's profits and excess reserves. Outside capital can stay unpublished without changing what an issuer says it holds. Profits and excess reserves are the issuer's own money, and the October 15 text does not say how much moved, or how it splits with HIVEN. AIsa said pilots were under way with unnamed enterprises in financial intelligence, market research, supply-chain management and commerce. Until someone prices the stake, or defines the 100 million transactions, the verifiable change is the cap-table claim — $6.5 million total on July 3, more than $9 million claimed on October 15 — and usage numbers that remain company-reported.
