Monex’s Broker TradeStation Integrates Trading API into TradingView

September 11, 2019

TradeStation API

TradeStation Securities, the leading broker-dealer and Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), has launched an API-powered integration with TradingView which allows mutual customers to execute equities and commodity futures orders through TradeStation Securities’ back-end execution systems from a TradingView website display screen.

TradingView offers a suite of charting and model tools and connects with a large social community of 8 million active traders who test, exchange, and trade financial ideas through the platform. The
partnership with TradeStation will now allow them to place and execute orders in their TradeStation Securities account, without having to leave the TradingView platform.

TradingView’s user growth has skyrocketed in the last three years – triple-digit increases in adoption now put monthly active users at more than 8 million in more than 150 countries. Nearly 50% of the TradingView user base is Millennials, with an additional 13% being GenZ. The groups are particularly drawn to the company’s extensive charting expertise. TradingView is a top 1000 global Web site per Alexa rankings.

Denis Globa, Chief Executive Officer of TradingView, commented: “With over 10 million monthly users, it’s clear we have a growth and customer-centric mindset here at TradingView. By joining forces with an established broker like TradeStation Securities that shares this mentality, and by linking the power of both of our platforms through an API connection, we see our community of traders getting even bigger, better and stronger.”

John Bartleman, President of TradeStation Group, said: “Social media is continuing to transform and disrupt our world as we know it, and TradingView has brought the power of social media to the
world of trading. Through this integration, TradingView’s users who are also our brokerage customers will now be able to utilize the speed, functionality, and execution of TradeStation Securities’ award-winning brokerage services. In addition, we look forward to being able to provide access to cryptocurrency trade executions via the same API integration once TradeStation Crypto, Inc., TradeStation Group’s cryptocurrency brokerage subsidiary, becomes operational.”

TradingView has recently acquired fintech API and application pioneer TradeIt in order to allow its over 8 million monthly active users to trade through major U.S. brokers from anywhere. The deal was closed just under $20 million, according to TechCrunch.

TradeStation has recently created its Crypto subsidiary, where it plans to offer cryptocurrency brokerage services, subject to completing all business launch requirements and obtaining applicable licenses.

The broker-dealer is owned by Japanese retail FX broker Monex Group, which has launched a cryptocurrency division last year. Monex acquired Coincheck, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges until January 2018, when it was hacked and about $500 million were stolen.
