SEBA Doubles Down on DeFi, Supports Aave And Chainlink

SEBA Bank is expanding its DeFi offering with support added for Aave (AAVE) and Chainlink (LINK) tokens, two pioneers in decentralized finance with a combined market cap in excess of USD 12 billion.

The FINMA licensed Swiss Bank, which has made a name for itself as it bridges digital and traditional assets, will now allow institutions to manage these DeFi tokens across its service offering, including investment, custody, and trading.

Alistair Heggie, Chief Operating Officer of SEBA Bank, commented: “Investor interest in digital assets is growing rapidly, and many want to go beyond bitcoin. SEBA Bank offers investors bespoke access to the return drivers and diversification benefits of this new asset class. We are pleased to provide our expertise in digital assets to build exposure in this new asset class.”

The bank is also integrating a number of ERC-20 tokens supported on its hot storage custody solution into its proprietary institutional-grade cold storage custody infrastructure. These include: USD Coin (USDC), Uniswap (UNI), Yearn Finance (YFI), Synthetix (SNX), Chainlink (LINK), and Aave (AAVE).

The bank’s digital asset banking services are supported by SEBA Research, providing analytics and insights in compliance with the Swiss Bankers Association research guidelines.

SEBA BAnk combines quantitative metrics and in-depth qualitative analysis as part of its selection process of digital assets, including value accrual mechanism, tokenomics, and the underlying protocol.

The bank has recently appointed Sam Lin as Chief Executive Officer Asia to complement the headcount growth in the Singapore and Hong Kong hubs as well as solidify the firm’s status of regional leader in digital asset banking.

SEBA Bank will count on Sam Lin’s fintech experience to expand the FINMA-licensed Swiss bank’s footprint in the Asia Pacific as a provider of a seamless, secure, and easy-to-use bridge between digital and traditional assets.

SEBA Bank pioneered crypto-to-fiat banking services. The bank’s proprietary Digital Asset Technology Integration Layer offers connectivity across an ecosystem of digital asset banking and investment services, including an integrated trading platform with spot, derivative, and credit capabilities.

The bank also boasts an end-to-end tokenisation platform for managing the full lifecycle of digital assets. a wide offering of investment products and discretionary mandates supported by institutional grade buy-side research; and a fully integrated military-grade custody and wallet solution.

Aave is one of the fastest growing DeFi protocols. Its decentralized non-custodial liquidity protocol allows users to participate as depositors or borrowers of cryptoassets on which they earn or pay interest.

LINK is the native token of Chainlink, which was the first protocol to create a secure bridge between information within decentralised applications (d’apps) and information outside of the blockchain. Through its network of oracles it determines if information has been falsified or manipulated. It is currently the 12th biggest crypto with a market value of over $16 billion[1].
