TMX Appoints Sanjay Kulkarni to Lead Ongoing Digital Transformation

TMX GroupTMX Group has appointed Sanjay Kulkarni as Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Digital Solutions to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of TMX’s integrated marketing initiatives across digital platforms.

Effective November 28, 2018, Kulkarni will focus primarily on building enterprise-wide digital and data-driven marketing capabilities to help drive global sales for TMX’s core business lines and to enhance client service across all business units.

The new Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Digital Solutions is a marketing veteran with over 18 years of experience in product development, product marketing, and commercial strategy. Prior to joining TMX Group, Kulkarni served at West Corporation, where he played the role of Senior Vice President, West Digital Communications.

Kulkarni held a number of leadership roles in the financial services and technology sectors prior to West Corporation. In the past, he was Global Head of the Public Relations Solutions business at Nasdaq, and Vice President of Product Management at ADP Canada.

In March 2018, TMX Group announced its foray into the cryptocurrency space with the launch of cryptocurrency brokerage platform. The platform is called Shorcan Digital Currency Network or Shorcan DCN and it focuses on Bitcoin and Ethereum trading. The platform is a joint partnership with Toronto-based fintech startup Paycase Financial Corp., that operates a remittance platform for mobile phones.

The multi-asset exchange group announced organizational changes in late September 2018. Two of its subsidiaries – London-based Trayport Limited (Trayport) and Shorcan Brokers Limited (Shorcan) – changed leadership.
