Salary Hero raises $7.6m Series A led by Cento Ventures

Cento Ventures leads Salary Hero's $7.6 million Series A, of which $6 million is new equity. The Bangkok earned-wage firm is taking that model into Malaysia.

Salary Hero's Series A is a US$7.6 million headline with a smaller cheque inside it. I would not book the full sum as new primary capital. Cento Ventures said on October 15, 2026 that it is leading the round, which includes US$6 million of new equity, alongside Kairous Capital and M Venture Partners. The Bangkok earned wage access (EWA) firm is deepening its position in Thailand and entering Malaysia. US$7.6 million minus that US$6 million leaves US$1.6 million that the lead does not classify.

Salary Hero Co., Ltd. lists its office in Bang Rak, Bangkok. Fintech News Singapore carried the raise on October 14. That account included a credit facility, a Malaysian partner target and a start quarter, none of which is in the lead's note or on the company pages read for this piece.

Integrations before growth

Cento describes wages already earned, recovered by payroll deduction at the end of the cycle. The hard step is the fifteenth of the month, when that sum sits in a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) that large employers rarely open. Most regional players, the note says, go direct to consumers or serve smaller firms whose payroll can be handled by hand.

The lead says Salary Hero integrated into SAP SuccessFactors, Workday and Darwinbox. It has finished integrations with 14 of the 15 major HRIS systems in its market and works with more than 25 enterprise HR partners. Repayment is one monthly reconciliation with the employer, not a chase of individual workers. That is the distribution bet in finmid's embedded lending and in Stripe's agreement to buy Parafin. It is not the personal-guarantee problem Archa is raising to drop.

A 2024 book, restated

Cento's note says the platform reaches more than 300,000 employees across over 100 companies, from large enterprise employers to fast-scaling operators. Employers using Salary Hero report frontline turnover down by 15 to 25%. The note cites an estimated US$150 million in informal-lender loans avoided, and says informal lenders in the region can charge 20% a month.

The company's own timeline does not give a newer census. Its 2024 line says Salary Hero had crossed more than 200 employer partners and served more than 300,000 employees, with ISO 27001 certification and compliance with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Read on October 15, 2026, the present line still said Series A fundraising was underway, with Malaysia next, aimed at a Southeast Asian formal workforce the company puts above 150 million. The lead has published terms. The page has not been edited to them.

That about page also describes a facilities customer with 35,000 employees and a stated 15% rise in retention. A staff comment there names the employer as PCS. The case-study index calls PCS (Thailand) a parking and mobility operator and also lists B-Quik (Thailand), an automotive service chain. Neither page has those employers commenting on the round.

We started Salary Hero because the financial system in Southeast Asia is broken for the people who can least afford it. A factory worker in Thailand shouldn't have to pay over 20% a month to cover a mid-month gap. We've proven in Thailand that there's a better model, one that's fairer for workers and commercially compelling for employers.

That is Prabhav Rakhra, co-founder and managing director of Salary Hero, in the Cento note. He and co-founder Jonathan Nohr met at Bain in Bangkok. Both came from credit and trading desks at Barclays, BlueCrest, BNP Paribas and Credit Suisse. The company dates the founding to 2021 in Bangkok. For 2022 it records a US$2.8 million seed from Global Founders Capital, M Venture Partners and 500 TukTuks.

Malaysia is a portability test

M Venture Partners, already on that 2022 seed, is in the Series A again. Kairous Capital is the new name. Cento calls it Malaysia-based and says its relationships should speed the local test. Kairous's public homepage, checked on October 15, 2026, did not describe the round. The note quotes neither the Bank of Thailand nor Bank Negara Malaysia, and the Salary Hero pages reviewed claim no new licence for Malaysia.

Cento is plain that the model was proved in Thailand and that Malaysia is the next test, with a local team in place and no partner target or start quarter in the note. If enterprises there sit on SuccessFactors, Workday or Darwinbox, the repayment plumbing travels. If they sit on vendors the note does not name, the US$6 million of new equity is a rebuild budget.

A wage already earned, and taken back through the employer, is a different asset from the instrument in NeoGrowth's latest raise. Either Salary Hero takes "fundraising underway" off the journey page and labels the US$1.6 million, or this Series A remains the lead's note.
