Plinto raises €2.9 million pre-seed for finance controls
Plinto raises €2.9 million pre-seed from People Ventures and Emblem. No valuation is stated, and the firm puts no euros on around 430 monthly deviations.

Copenhagen-based Plinto has raised €2.9 million in pre-seed funding from People Ventures and Emblem, aiming Peakon's continuous read of fragmented inputs at invoices, prices and deliveries. Co-founders Nermina Suljevic, Jakob Nielsen and Sebastian Rehnby, and chief technology officer Andreas Garnæs, worked at Peakon, which Workday acquired in 2021, EU-Startups reported. On Plinto's October 20, 2026 post, Emblem founder and general partner Guillaume Durao said they "played key roles in building Peakon," which "was ultimately acquired by Workday for over $700 million." The post states no valuation for Plinto, and those dollars are the Workday deal, not a conversion of this round.
The other missing number is a price on the errors. The company says agents found around 430 deviations a month in a single part of one customer's business, EU-Startups and Tech.eu reported that day. Tech Funding News added that Plinto did not say what the deviations were worth. People Ventures partner Magnus Stagsted does not cite the count: he cites the team, "a really unique sense of togetherness," and going "all the way out to where a transaction starts."
What the two funds bought
Plinto said the capital will speed product development and expansion into new markets. EU-Startups, Tech.eu and Tech Funding News agree on the €2.9 million, the two funds and a founding in early 2025. EU-Startups calls the funds the leads and adds business angels, as does Tech Funding News, while the company post names only the two funds. It describes People Ventures as a Nordic early-stage investor in Copenhagen, and Emblem as a European firm in Paris, Copenhagen, Stockholm and London.
Tech Funding News reported that the money will mostly go towards recruiting. The team is eight people, four of them managers, and chief executive Nermina Suljevic is lining up product, engineering, sales and customer success for another round. EU-Startups called the expansion a first move outside Denmark, and Plinto has not named the country.
Agents that act, with a person still approving
Jakob Nielsen, co-founder and CDO according to EU-Startups, told that outlet the gap is checking transactions, not recording them.
Companies have systems that record every single transaction, but checking whether those transactions actually match agreements and rules is still largely manual. We're building AI agents that find deviations, investigate them and take action, so errors get fixed.
He told Tech Funding News: "It is not an accounts payable solution but rather a component of the background infrastructure." An agent can prompt the user, suggest an action or draft a vendor message so "the human has control of what the AI does." EU-Startups still says the agents can contact a supplier, request a credit note or prepare a correction for approval.
Plinto's product page places the layer on enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems the buyer already runs, including Microsoft Business Central, Visma, Xero, Fortnox and e-conomic, plus Nordea, Danske Bank, SEB and a claimed "2,700+ other banks." Data is processed and stored in the European Union only, is not used to train models, and ISO 27001 certification is underway. Tech.eu reports unnamed paying customers and pilots in logistics, real estate, facility services and food production, and a duplicate invoice under a different supplier name caught before a second payment. EU-Startups timed that flag to the minute the invoice arrived.
Many of our customers work with low margins, so even small errors can quickly add up. The problem is that they're often only discovered after the money has been paid. We want companies to catch and fix errors before they hit the bottom line.
That is Suljevic, co-founder and chief executive, as quoted by EU-Startups and Tech.eu. Plinto ApS, CVR 43078992, lists Flæsketorvet 28 in Copenhagen.
Neighbours, not a cleared field
Suljevic told Tech Funding News that Plinto has not found a direct competitor in financial controlling. She pointed to accounts-payable tools, ERP suites and general models such as Claude. The piece cited Finto of Munich, which it said raised $3.4 million in July 2026 to match invoices to purchase orders, and Repodo, an AI audit firm from Lunar's founders that raised €8.2 million in August 2026. No rival and no customer is quoted, and the posts describe no licence application, which fits software on the customer's ledger rather than a supervisor's sign-off.
Plinto has not named the first country outside Denmark. The site already offers Danish and Swedish as well as English, and the Emblem cities named above include Stockholm, with customer data kept in the EU. Other funding on this desk already targets the cash step, from Cleavr's €8 million seed for invoice collection to Pay by Bank on UK SME invoices and RedOwl's seed for billing errors. Until someone prices the deviations, the €2.9 million is a bet on the Peakon alumni.
