OANDA Appoints Warren Faleiro as Chief Technology Officer

OANDAOANDA, the leading online multi-asset trading services provider, announced the appointment of Warren Faleiro as Chief Technology Officer, based in Toronto, in its ongoing commitment to driving innovation in the financial services arena.

 

Faleiro, a 20-year industry veteran, joined OANDA from FreshBooks, a Canadian cloud-based accounting solutions provider, where he was CTO for five years. He was also in charge of technology in his previous job at mobile payments solution provider BiltoMobile from 2010 to 2012. Other roles include, among others, VP and Director of Engineering at Verisign from 2005 to 2010.

 

At OANDA, Warren Faleiro will be responsible will be responsible for driving the broker’s global technology strategy while providing technical leadership across all areas of the business.

Founded in 1995, OANDA became the first organization to share exchange rate data free of charge on the Internet. The company has recently announced the inclusion of real-time rates on its Exchange Rates API, which are updated every five seconds. The retail broker was a pioneer of the Internet-based currency trading with the launch of its trading platform in 2001.

 

Vatsa Narasimha, OANDA’s CEO, was appointed to the job in early 2017 after three years as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Strategy Officer.
