Multiliquid's funding total is $8 million after Polychain seed

Uniform Labs put Multiliquid's total funding at $8 million after a Polychain-led seed. Will Beeson would not split the rounds or disclose a valuation.

Multiliquid's total funding is $8 million, and Uniform Labs will not say how much of that sum is the seed Polychain led. The October 15, 2026 announcement, datelined Los Angeles, names Strobe Ventures, CMT Digital, Metalayer Ventures, Generative Ventures and Circle Ventures alongside the lead. It states neither the seed's size nor a split with an earlier round. A repo desk can take the other side of a trade. This disclosure cannot. This desk has already reported a different bid for that kind of exit: Fission raised $10 million to buy tokenised fund exits. Neither funding total says who pays the holder when an issuer window is shut.

The split

Founder and Chief Executive Will Beeson gave the calendar and withheld the split. He told The Block that the pre-seed was a simple agreement for future equity, raised between May and June 2025, and that the seed was a priced equity round raised between April and June 2026. He declined to disclose how the $8 million was split, declined to disclose the valuation, and said Multiliquid has not constituted a board. The close was dated October 15, after the window he gave for the seed. None of Wellington Management, VanEck, Janus Henderson or Fasanara is named as an investor. The announcement says the protocol supports tokenised funds from those four managers, plus Circle's USDC, in one atomic swap. The platform is live on Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL). Beeson did not name customers.

The swap is not a clean print at net asset value (NAV). A fee disclosure dated July 16, 2026 charges the user 5% of any discount to NAV on a subscription, or of any premium on a redemption, floored at 1 basis point of the trade. Tokenised money market funds are capped at 10 basis points of average annual transaction volume in that fund. The spread is set by the stablecoin issuer or the capital provider, not by Uniform Labs. Capital providers are told to post USDC and buy below NAV. That exit needs a bid on the other side. The treasury pages add a promissory note from Uniform Treasury SPV, LLC, a Delaware bankruptcy-remote vehicle wholly owned by Uniform Labs, Inc., backed by WisdomTree's WTGXX, Janus Henderson's JTRSY and a stablecoin buffer of 5% to 10%. Inside that portfolio, redemptions are atomic. Past the buffer, the funds go back to the issuers on the issuers' timetables. A hop into USDC is not Circle redeeming USDC. Circle's terms can delay a European USDC redemption.

"Tokenization only matters if the assets are actually liquid," Beeson said in the announcement. "Traditional capital markets rely on deep repo facilities and overnight lending to keep liquidity moving." He told The Block: "Tokenization puts real-world assets onchain, but onchain is not the same as real-time or liquid." Olaf Carlson-Wee, founder of Polychain, said in the announcement: "Tokenized assets have started to gain traction but liquidity remains the bottleneck." Asked by The Block if Multiliquid plans its own token, Beeson said, "Not at this time." He gave no figures for volume, assets settled, users or institutional clients. He said the platform is handling initial pilot transactions and adding liquidity providers during the fourth quarter. An undated issuer page still markets $20 million-plus of live liquidity. He did not cite it.

A compliance disclosure dated July 16, 2026 says neither Uniform Labs nor its affiliates is registered with the SEC, FINRA, or any other securities regulatory authority as a broker-dealer, investment adviser, exchange, or otherwise, and calls the site non-custodial. The issuer page says a swap moves the token to a vault instead of burning it, so assets under management stay put. BlackRock has tokenised 12 money market share classes on Kinexys, and a Partior proof of concept settles stablecoins against tokenised deposits.

The about page says Beeson co-founded Allica Bank and, as chief product officer at Standard Chartered's Libeara, led work on Wellington's tokenised fund ULTRA before founding Multiliquid in 2025. Chief Operating Officer Angelo D'Alessandro founded UniCredit's buddybank. Beeson told The Block the company has five employees and is hiring protocol engineers and institutional business-development staff through early 2027. He said the funding will go to engineering, liquidity and venue partners, and more tokenised cash and Treasury products on Ethereum Virtual Machine networks and Solana. Until a supported manager, or Circle as USDC's issuer rather than through Circle Ventures, confirms an integration, or a later disclosure splits the $8 million and dates assets settled, the funding record stops at that October 15 total.
