Kamran Khan Named as Head of ESG – APAC at Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank - Kamran KhanDeutsche Bank, a leading European multinational banking and financial services provider has revealed in its latest announcement that it has appointed Mr. Kamran Khan as the Head of ESG for Asia Pacific region. This is a newly created role as in his role as head of the unit Mr. Khan will be responsible for development and co-ordination of regional business strategy for ESG across all of the bank’s various business divisions in the region. The incoming executive is a veteran with three decades of experience catering to leading financial services organisations in high level roles across Asia, Africa, USA, Latin America and Eastern European market region. Across his career, Mr. Khan has strived in bringing about sustainable development and dealt in both corporate and public advisory. In his new role at the firm, Mr. Khan will be located in Singapore and reporting to Mr. Werner Steinmuller – CEO for APAC region and Mr. David Lynne – Head of Corporate Bank and Fixed Income and Currencies for APAC region.

His two most notable achievements in career include appointment as head of global investments and operations at US Millennium Challenge Corporation and establishment of World Bank Group Hub in Singapore leading the bank’s infrastructure finance practice in East Asia. Before taking up his current role as Head of ESG unit for APAC region at Deutsche bank, he served as CEO and Managing Partner in a firm co-founded by him which invests in companies that are utilizing technology to provide improved infrastructure services and generate higher returns while achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals. Some of his other most notable roles include – Member of Board of Advisors at Fudan University Fintech Center, AirCarbon Pte Ltd, Server Domes, Globcoin.io, Member of Mergers and Acquisitions team in LEK Consulting & JP Morgan Chase & Co, Urban Infrastructure Specialist in World Bank and Urban Development Officer – US Foreign services (USAID).

Speaking about Kamran’s addition to the team, Mr. Werner Steinmuller said “We have created this role as a statement of our intention to place ESG at the heart of our organization and the service we provide to clients in this region.
