FIA Announces Partnership with Tribeca Early Stage Partners to Promote Innovators Pavilion

Futures Industry Association FIAWashington, D.C. – Today FIA announced that Tribeca Early Stage Partners will be a 2019 FIA Innovators Pavilion community partner, helping FIA connect with the fintech community in New York and encourage startups to participate in the Pavilion.

Tribeca Early Stage Partners, formerly known as Tribeca Angels, is a group of more than 50 finance professionals, entrepreneurs, and technologists who focus on financing and advising early-stage companies in the institutional fintech space. Based in New York, Tribeca ESP’s network helps with everything from introductions to operational support to capital raising. The group has 16 companies in its portfolio, including two companies that participated in the Innovators Pavilion in previous years.

“The fintech arena is in tremendous flux and finding the right go-to-market strategy can be very challenging for early-stage companies,” said John McEvoy, managing partner, Tribeca ESP. “The Innovators Pavilion is a great platform for connecting fintech startups with potential customers in the derivatives industry and we are excited to work with FIA and its member firms.”

“Having Tribeca ESP as one of our community partners will be a tremendous help in growing our annual fintech showcase,” said Will Acworth, senior vice president at FIA. “They have a fantastic network of contacts in capital markets and the fintech ecosystem and we are looking forward to working with them to accelerate the adoption of fintech in the global derivatives markets.”

The Innovators Pavilion, now in its fifth year, is FIA’s annual showcase for fintech startups that are offering forward-thinking solutions for the global derivatives markets. The showcase provides free exhibition space at FIA’s annual Futures and Options Expo in Chicago, the cleared derivatives industry’s most widely attended event. Participating in this event provides these startups with an opportunity to connect with banks, brokers, trading firms, exchanges and other participants in the global derivatives markets.

Since 2015, more than 70 startups have participated in the Pavilion. Each year an independent committee of industry experts chosen from venture capital companies and FIA member firms review applications from eligible startups and select the companies that offer the most innovative and relevant products and solutions. After the first round is completed, the committee then selects the five most promising startups to participate in the FIA’s Meet the Innovators pitch contest and compete for the FIA Innovator of the Year award.

The application deadline for this year’s Innovators Pavilion is Aug. 9. For more information, click here.
