Cancore raises $7.2 million to link Canton and public chains
Cancore raised $7.2 million at a $60 million token valuation to link Canton assets with public-chain liquidity. The live fee is public; CNRX is still a SAFT.

Cancore has raised $7.2 million to connect assets on Canton with liquidity on public blockchains, and a trading desk can underwrite the fee on a live book more readily than the token mark on the cheque. Chief Executive Wasif Rashid told The Block on October 27, 2026 that the seed closed at a $60 million fully diluted valuation through simple agreements for future tokens (SAFTs) for a planned CNRX token that still has no launch date. Canton developer Digital Asset raised $355 million on June 11, 2026, led by a16z crypto. Cancore's cheque is about 2% of that network round and 12% of its own token mark if the SAFTs convert at the price Rashid described, and he published no cap table.
Paper Ventures, dao5, ArkStream Capital, X Ventures, MH Ventures and Proof of Talk backed the round. Rashid said there was no formal lead and that Paper Ventures and dao5 took the largest allocations. Talks began in June, the raise opened in July and it closed in mid-September, so October 27 was the disclosure, weeks after the money was in. The Cancore Foundation post that afternoon states the $7.2 million size and leaves the $60 million figure to the interview.
What the rail settles
Cancore calls the platform a liquidity operating system for tokenised finance: a trade ticket and a self-custody wallet that join Canton assets, including tokenised real-world assets (RWAs), to stablecoins and decentralised finance (DeFi) liquidity. The company post lists live links to Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Robinhood Chain and Tron, with Solana next. Rashid told The Block that Base is also planned and that Solana waits on an external security audit he left undated. "Either the trade completes on both chains, or both parties are refunded," he said. Assets stay on their home chains, without a wrapped token, a separate bridge validator or a custodian in the middle. The zero-total-value-locked bridge is still in development.
Since the April launch, Rashid said, Cancore has processed more than $86 million across more than 160,000 trades, with revenue of more than $700,000. He said Cancore charges 0.5% on each side, so dividing his floors, $700,000 over $86 million, produces about 0.81%, a ratio of those floors rather than a reconciled take rate. He said the firm also adds 10% to Canton network fees and keeps 20% of liquidity-pool profits. On October 28, 2026 the public fee-config endpoint returned a feeRate of 0.005, a maxFeeRate of 0.015 and a $10 minimum, and the network-fee add-on is absent from that file.
Who went on the record
Danish Chaudhry, general partner at Paper Ventures, said in the company announcement: "In traditional markets, much of the value sits with the infrastructure that moves capital between venues: clearing, settlement, prime brokerage. Tokenized markets will need the same layer, and between Canton and public chains it barely exists today." Rashid named LayerZero, Wormhole, Squid and Canton-based decentralised exchanges as competition. Partior's proof of concept already settles stablecoins against tokenised deposits, while Cancore is selling a self-custody version and says agentic trading is live inside user-set limits. Robinhood's agentic trading, already near 100,000 accounts with crypto named next, sits on a different stack, and Robinhood Chain is one network Cancore says it can reach. The on-chain Japanese government bond repo MUFG has tested on Canton is the sort of collateral that still needs a public-chain bid.
Cancore's mention of more than 700 ecosystem participants repeats Yuval Rooz, co-founder and chief executive of Digital Asset, who used that figure on June 11 for the wider network. Rashid said Cancore, founded in late 2025 with 10 employees mainly in the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan, will give CNRX stakers lower fees and higher limits, with token benefits for liquidity providers, and he gave no launch date. Until that date exists, the $60 million figure is a financing mark on a SAFT. Rashid said Cancore runs a Canton validator and has locked 5 million CC under CIP-0116. CoinGecko showed Canton (CC) at $0.098684 on October 28, 2026, market capitalisation $3.94 billion and circulating supply 39.94 billion, as of 06:31 UTC. At that print, 5 million CC is about $493,000, or 0.0125% of supply.
What a desk can check next
From here a desk can watch whether Base and Solana join the live list, whether the zero-lock bridge leaves development, and whether CNRX gets a date, beside a 0.5% fee already on a public endpoint and a volume tape that is still only a cumulative floor.
