BCS Makes Fresh Hires to Amp up US Equities & Fired Income Sales Teams

As per recent announcement made by BCS Global Markets, the firm has made two new hires to boost its US operations. As per the statement, the firm has hired Kyrill Firshein and Diego Vargas to serve as part of its sales team based out of its New York office. This move comes shortly after the launch of its global equity trading platform which was made announced during January 2019 and so it can also be considered as a move to compensate for increased demand faced by US wing of the firm. BCS Global Markets is the largest independent securities broker listed in Moscow Exchange with presence on other major global economic capitals such as London, New York, Zurich, Ottawa, Copenhagen and Singapore. The newly hired executives will focus on expanding market share of Russian and Emerging markets focused equity and fixed income assets offered by the firm in US market.

While the statement hinted that Kyrill Firshein will serve under the equities division in New York office his exact designation in the sales team has not been made public yet. The information of his new role at BCS hasn’t been updated by Kyrill in his LinkedIn profile either. Kyrill in an industry veteran with over 17 years of experience serving in financial service sector and during his extensive career he has served under some of top industry heavy weights such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche UFG, Deutsche Bank and VTB capital. Prior to his current role at BCS, Kyrill served as an Executive Director at VTB Capital for Americas region for nearly two years. He started his career as Financial Analyst at Goldman Sachs back in 2000, but has spent the rest of his career with other major industry giants focusing on equity assets. A statement from VTB states that Kyrill was instrumental in expanding its equity distribution in US market.

On the other hand, Diego Vargas who joins the firm alongside Kyrill will serve under BCS’s fixed income sales team. Diego is yet another industry veteran who has more than a decade of experience serving in financial service sector with special focus and knowledge on wealth management and capital markets. Some of the notable firms which Diego has served include IDB Capital, INTL FCStone, Banco Santander and Indosuez wealth management.  Speaking about appointment of these two industry veterans to their sales team, Gary Esayian, Head of BCS for Americas operations commented, “We are delighted to expand our Research, Trading and Distribution capabilities with the addition of experienced investment professionals such as Kyrill and Diego. We think they add depth to our offering and their relationships are invaluable. Our New York team welcomes them along with our colleagues in Moscow and London”.
