Alpha Bank Onboards Two New Executives for Senior Level Leadership Roles

Alpha Bank - New ExecutivesAlpha Bank, the largest bank in Greece according to market capitalization has revealed the appointment of two new executives to its senior level leadership and management team. As per statement released by the bank it has onboarded Ms. Anastasia Sakellariou and Ms. Fragiski Melissa to serve in roles of Chief Transformation Officer and Chief Human Resources Officer respectively. Both officers are expected to become part of Alpha bank effective from April 2020 and will take on the role of General Manager alongside their individual roles effectively becoming a part of its Executive Committee. According to the bank, this move to hire two new senior level executives is part of its strategic plan aimed at bringing in key players who can help drive forward its comprehensive transformation and is a considered an important milestone by the bank.

Anastasia Sakellariou will take on the newly created role of Chief Transformation Officer and General Manager Roles and will be responsible for handling the bank’s entire transformation process in holistic manner. As the CTO, she will be in charge of overall design off the group’s transformation plan and is expect to ensure timely implementation and monitoring of various initiatives by co-operation with other general managers at the firm. The incoming transformation officer is an expert in banking operations having held key senior level roles across industry leading multinational banks and financial service providers during her twenty year long career history. She is currently serving as CEO of Praxia bank and will continue to hold the role until end of March before moving on to Alpha bank. Some of her other notable roles include – CEO at credicom consumer finance bank, Hellenic financial stability fund, investment advisor at Atlas merchant capital, senior advisor at Piraeus Bank, CRO at Hellenic Postbank and Managing Director at Credit Suisse.

Fragiski Melissa who joins as Chief Human Resources Officer will also take on the role of Executive General Manager and work alongside her predecessor Penelope Konidari for a period of time since she comes into power in order to ensure smooth transition of power and responsibilities. Once Ms. Melissa takes on the role of Head of HRO, Penelope will take on the role of an advisory capacity which she will retain until she parts ways with the firm. She is currently serving as Director of Human Resources at Vodafone, Regional Director of Human Resources for South Eastern Europe at Colgate-Palmolive and as Head of Human Resources at Metro Cash & Carry Deutschland GmBh. Similar to Anastasia who joins alsongside her, Ms. Fragiski is also a veteran with multi-decade long career history and is an expert in cost optimization, restructuring programs, M&A’s and HR strategy making both the incoming executives ideal candidates for bank’s aim at complete transformation as banking and financial service providers.
