Z.com appoints Masahiro Funada as CEO

GMO Financial GroupThe FCA regulated GMO Financial Group’s UK division, Z.com Trade UK Limited has made a top management change by moving in Masahiro Funada as its new CEO from Hong Kong, where he ran the group’s China and Hong Kong focused businesses. The change is a part of group’s overall management shuffle within GMO and also reflecting changing priorities at the UK unit.

Mr Funada is associated with the GMO Group for over 9 years now that includes stints as a General Manager at GMO Financial Holdings Inc, and at GMO Click Securities. With his expertise in institutional FX brokerage, liquidity and risk management, Z.com wants to leverage his skills in establishing itself into the B2B corporate space providing liquidity solutions for FX brokers in partnership with its parent company. Till now, its parent including GMO Financial Holdings has invested over $11 million of capital in UK arm.

Vacating the role for Mr Funada is Mr Tomitaka Ishimura who has been moved to head GMO Coin in Japan, the company’s rapidly growing crypto CFD brokerage business.
