The Vienna Stock Exchange has appointed Andrea Herrmann as Chief Financial Officer. The former CFO at Western Union International Bank GmbH will join the executive team as of 1 May 2021, following the retirement of Ludwig Nießen.
Prior to leading the financial department of Western Union in Austria, Andrea Herrmann’s professional career led her to work at leading Austrian firms, including GE Money Bank, Telekom Austria and ABB Austria. By May 2021, Herrmann will have led Western Union as the Chief Financial Officer for nearly 12 years.

Andrea Herrmann is a highly skilled financial expert with international management experience. With her financial knowledge and background, Andrea Herrmann ideally complements the management team. This new strong set-up paves the way for continuing the successful positioning of the Vienna Stock Exchange as a Central European infrastructure platform.”
The Vienna Stock Exchange operates exchanges in Vienna, Budapest, Zagreb, and Ljubljana, thus making the Austro-Hungarian empire alive and well when it comes to stock exchanges. In September 2020, the venue listed 21Shares, a new issuer of products on cryptocurrencies, in order to list digital assets for the first time, starting with Bitcoin and Ethereum. The service includes real-time quotation and securities settlement. “Cryptocurrencies offer experienced investors a new opportunity to diversify their portfolio.
