Business flow tracking and performance analytics provider Velocimetrics has appointed John Benini and Steve O’Brien to help expand its footprint among investment banks, international hedge funds, and exchanges in the United States and Canada.

John Benini,  a server and network infrastructure specialist with over ten years’ experience, joins the company from Majestyk Apps, where he held the position of Chief Technology Officer. His software engineer career includes two years at Morgan Stanley as Trading Systems Integrator. Based in New York, Benini will be responsible for solution implementation and client support for US customers.
“Having worked in the low-latency/high-volume arena, I’ve seen many players come and go and Velocimetrics is succeeding in a very influential way. The team has created something incredible that’s right at the forefront of trading technology and its solutions can really help firms to gain insight into pain points, improve efficiencies and boost margins. It’s a welcome change in the post-MiFID II world”, Benini stated.
Steve O’Brien is a fintech industry veteran with over 25 years’ experience working in financial technology with Tier 1 banks and capital markets firms. At Velocimetrics, he will play the role of Vice President of Sales, North America.
“This is the first time Velocimetrics has appointed a VP of Sales in the region, demonstrating their commitment to the market. There is a big requirement in North America for the solutions Velocimetrics provides to help institutions manage risk, grow revenue and reduce cost. It’s a great solution, with an excellent business case and I’m really looking forward to taking it to the market”, said O’Brien.
Steve Colwill, Chief Executive Officer of Velocimetrics, commented:
“These are really exciting times for Velocimetrics. The US is massively important territory for fintech – we have some incredible clients in NYC and we want to be able to capitalize on this and grow our client base there. Both John and Steve bring considerable experience to the company and will play key roles in our strategy for growth. We are delighted to welcome them on board.”

Velocimetrics offers uncompromised end-to-end visibility across complex environments accompanied by performance improving analytics. Headquartered in the UK, the company focuses on actual payments and trades being processed to provide real-time, business flow performance tracking and analysis solutions.
