Trey Berre Promoted As CME Group’s Global Head of Data Services

Chicago based derivates and F&O service provider, exchange operator giant CME group last week announced that they have a new global head of data services. As per announcement made by the firm, Trey Berre who has been part of CME family for nearly a decade and handles various key positions in the firm relation to business operations and legal enforcements has now been appointed as new global head of data services. Trey’s promotion as global head is effective immediately and he is expected to continue serving the firm from their headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. In his new role as global head of data services, Trey is expected to oversee the CME group’s portfolio of historical, real-time and derived data products and services.

Aside from management activities relating to the firm’s existing products and solutions, Trey is expected to help the firm on their work pertaining to new data analytics and distribution products. Since joining the firm, Trey saw steady growth inside the company. He started his career at CME Group as a senior enforcement counsel in 2010. Before joining CME group in 2010, Trey Berre was Assistant State’s Attorney for Cook County State’s Attorney’s office – civil action bureau. Within few years of joining the firm , he moved up by several ranks and became chief of aisde to CME Group’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to his latest role as global head of data services, Trey held two other key posts in the firm, serving as global head of derived data licensing and partner services and also as Head of Operations – office of the president CME Group.

Trey will be highly busy and active from Day 1 as Global head owing to his role in integrating products from Fin Tech Company NEX which CME acquired late last year into CME group’s wide range of products and solutions. When speaking about Trey Berre’s promotion as global head, Bryan Durkin, CME group’s president commented that, “Clients continue to look to CME Group for traditional and alternative data sets to inform their trading strategies around the world. Trey’s extensive operational knowledge will be a tremendous asset to both deliver value to our clients and further position our data services business for long-term growth”.
