TMGM Snatches CDO Lachlan Ratjens From oneZero

TMGM, a leading trading company based in Sydney, Australia, has appointed Lachlan Ratjens as Chief Data Officer.

Specialized in machine learning, data science, data engineering, and architecting data products and solutions, Ratjens joins TMGM from oneZero Financial Systems, where he was SVP Data and Analytics for nearly a year.

Passionate about creating high-performance teams and innovative solutions to solve complex problems across a number of business verticals, he has founded SpreadDoctor in 2015.

SpreadDoctor was launched to provide risk management software to FX brokers using machine learning to predict which execution venues clients should be allocated to ahead of the trade.

His firm allowed brokers to minimize their risk and maximize their profit, also providing in-depth reporting by extracting trades and pricing, converting to common currency and then passing through our proprietary software.

Also in the FX space, Ratjens was Lead Quantitative Analyst and Risk Manager (commonly known as Data Scientist) at AxiTrader from 2012 to 2016.

He managed AxiTrader’s flow by harnessing machine learning techniques for all retail foreign exchange (FX) and contract for difference (CFD) operations.

Ratjens also managed market risk for AxiTrader’s foreign exchange and contract for difference products as well as managing development projects on proprietary risk analytic tools, implementation of execution algorithms and database operations.

At AxiTrader, he was also involved in the development and production-live deployment of an automated trading system and engagement of key providers for infrastructure review.

Prior roles within the trading industry include Automated Trading Technician at Knowledge to Action, Futures Prop Trader at Propex Derivatives, Service Desk Officer at UBS Wealth Management, and Analyst at MC Capital.

Before joining one Zero, Ratjens spent three years at Collision Group in London, UK, where he managed all Data Science and Data Engineering teams within the Group globally.

There, he designed solutions for all data products and pipelines, mentored growing teams of Data Science and Engineering and managed existing production environments, with projects including building a Data Lake on AWS, fraud detection, customer segmentation and price optimisation for a number of clients.
