thePropTrade review: the Saint Lucia name, the Dubai contract
thePropTrade's footer names a Saint Lucia company, but its terms contract with a Dubai free-zone firm, fees run through Cyprus, and the funded-stage agreement is not published before you pay.

Prop-firm review
thePropTrade
Verdict thePropTrade suits forex and index traders who want low entry prices, static drawdown on the Classic challenges and a 14-day first payout. It does not suit anyone who needs to know, before paying, which company owes them money and under which law. The biggest caveat: the footer names a Saint Lucia company, the terms contract with a Dubai free-zone company, fees run through a Cyprus processor, and the funded-stage contract is a separate agreement the buyer does not see.

Who you are actually contracting with
Every page footer opens: "thePropTrade.com is a domain utilized by The Prop Trade Ltd, incorporated under registration number 2025-00866 in Saint Lucia", at the Rodney Court Building, Rodney Bay.
The General Terms and Conditions tell a different story. Clause 1.1 says the terms govern services "provided by Quantelite – Fzco", licence DSO-FZCO-43496, IFZA Business Park, Dubai Silicon Oasis, which the GTCs define as "the Provider". Clause 1.2 adds that "Payments are processed through a service provider K.K. PPM & Consulting Ltd.", HE 449109, Sotiros 7, Larnaca, Cyprus. The Saint Lucia company appears in no operative clause. The footer does list the Dubai and Cyprus companies lower down, under "Other Operational Entities", but as supporting players; the contract makes Dubai the counterparty.
- The funded contract is somewhere else. Clause 9.1 says a passing trader "may be offered a contract", and that it "will be governed by an agreement separate to these GTCs". Those terms are not published before purchase.
- No governing law, no forum. We read all 17 clauses. None names a governing law, a court or an arbitration body. Clause 10.3 says disputes are resolved "according to these GTC) and applicable law", without saying whose.
- Liability is capped at the fee. Clause 13.2 limits any liability "to the amount of the fee you paid"; clause 17.3 lets the Provider assign the contract without consent.
The GTCs also predate the current shelf: they describe "Standard", "Pro" and "Express" evaluations, and give the Dubai office as "Unit 45679-001" where the footer says "Unit 456/9-001". Our Space Funded review found a similar gap between where a firm says it is and where a claim would go.
What the registers show. OpenCorporates' copy of the Cyprus register lists K.K. PPM & Consulting Ltd, HE449109, as active, at Sotiros 7, Aradippou 7101, Larnaca, with incorporation filings dated July 2023. We could not check Quantelite – FZCO: IFZA and Dubai Silicon Oasis offer no public search we could query, and it is absent from OpenCorporates and GLEIF. October 2024 launch coverage by FX Weekly names it as the registrant and Andreas Andreou, formerly of BDSwiss, as founder. The Saint Lucia registry is not searchable online, so The Prop Trade Ltd and 2025-00866 are unconfirmed.
What thePropTrade publishes about payouts, and what we could not verify
The firm publishes schedules, not results. PayFlex and Instant requests are "processed within 3 business days", according to the Instant Funding payout FAQ. Methods: Skrill, Neteller, USDT, USDC, BTC. Evaluation fees come back with the third payout, when PayFlex also adds 50% of Step 1 profit; a breach before then forfeits both.
The firm's own pages disagree twice:
- The evaluation page says 2-Step traders "get rewarded weekly". The payout FAQ says 2-Step payouts come every 14 calendar days, and that the 7-day cycle belongs to the 1-Step.
- The evaluation card shows a funded TPT Score of 30%. The TPT Score FAQ says a payout can be requested only at "25% or below".
thePropTrade publishes no total paid out, no count of funded traders and no audited payout figure. Its Trustpilot profile lists 108 reviews but, when we viewed it on 29 September 2026, showed no score. A banner read: "This company's rating is unavailable due to a breach of our guidelines." The same banner appears in our 4PropTrader review. A 22 July 2026 reviewer says two funded accounts were closed just before payouts, one up about $7,500, after a strategy interview. The firm replied:
"Every action we take is based on documented evidence, reviewed carefully and applied consistently." (thePropTrade Team, Trustpilot reply, 23 July 2026)
We could not verify either side's account, any individual payout, or the scale of payouts overall.
Rules that fail traders
- The TPT Score. Largest winning day plus largest losing day, divided by total profit. On PayFlex and Instant accounts, above 25% blocks a withdrawal without breaching the account; it resets each payout cycle, so one big day can stall a payout.
- Trailing Lock after the first payout. The 6% drawdown trails upwards until the account is 6% in profit, then locks at the starting balance. Requesting a payout also locks it there. Withdrawing all profit leaves the account on the breach line; the FAQ advises "a safety buffer".
- News window. Clause 6.5 bars opening, closing or amending a trade in the 2 minutes before and after high-impact releases on the affected instruments, including US indices for USD news.
- Discretionary prohibitions. Clause 7.1 lets the Provider "determine what constitutes Prohibited Trading Practices". Clause 7.2 lists "one-sided bets", and 7.4 lists position sizes "significantly larger" than a trader's other trades. Penalties run from deleting trades and cutting leverage to 1:5 to termination without refund.
- Inactivity. No trade in 30 days breaches the account.
Check PayFlex terms at checkout. Before any option is picked, the evaluation page shows a 6% target, 4% daily loss and a $50.00 activation fee; the product data it loads once a size is chosen shows 3%, 3% and $29 to $419. We used the second set, which matches the February 2026 pricing notice.

Regulatory posture and platforms
thePropTrade is not regulated as an investment firm, and it does not claim to be. The footer says all accounts are "operating exclusively in a simulated trading environment using virtual capital", and clause 6.1 says customers are "not entitled to any real monetary payment" from simulated results "unless specifically agreed otherwise". That agreement would be the separate funded contract. A Dubai free-zone licence is a company licence, not a financial authorisation, and the GTCs claim no payment licence for the Cyprus processor.
TradeLocker. The homepage offers trading "on our own licensed MT5, cTrader or TradeLocker", and the platforms FAQ says "US-based traders may use TradeLocker only". But all 40 product variations on the evaluation page are MT5 or cTrader, and none is TradeLocker. On 29 September 2026 we found no way to buy one, leaving the US traders that FAQ steers to TradeLocker with no route in.
Scaling. The scaling rule promises growth "up to $2 Million": 25% more balance after four consecutive months of 10% profit. From the largest account, $100K, that takes 14 increases, about 56 unbroken 10% months. Its own Trustpilot description still says "up to 200,000 USD". More reviews sit on our Prop Firms desk.
FAQ
Is thePropTrade a Saint Lucia or a Dubai company?
Both names are used. The footer says the domain is used by The Prop Trade Ltd of Saint Lucia, but the GTCs, which form the contract, name Quantelite – FZCO of Dubai Silicon Oasis as the Provider, with K.K. PPM & Consulting Ltd of Cyprus processing payments. For an evaluation dispute, Dubai is the counterparty.
What law governs a thePropTrade dispute?
The GTCs do not say. We found no governing-law clause, no named court and no arbitration body across all 17 clauses. The funded-stage contract is a separate agreement that is not published before purchase, so its dispute terms cannot be checked in advance either.
How fast does thePropTrade pay out?
Classic accounts can request a first payout 14 days after the first funded trade, then every 7 days (1-Step) or 14 days (2-Step). PayFlex and Instant accounts request on demand once the TPT Score is 25% or below, processed in three business days. With no published totals, actual speed is unconfirmed.
Does thePropTrade offer TradeLocker?
Its homepage and platforms FAQ say yes, and the FAQ says US traders may use TradeLocker only. The evaluation page's product data offers only MetaTrader 5 and cTrader. We could not find a way to buy a TradeLocker account on 29 September 2026.
Is the challenge fee refundable?
Classic and PayFlex fees are refunded with the third funded payout, if the account survives that long. Instant Funding fees are "strictly non-refundable". Under clause 12, the 14-day withdrawal right ends as soon as the first demo trade is placed.
This review is independent editorial analysis and is not financial, investment, or trading advice, and is not an endorsement or solicitation. The Industry Spread has no affiliate or referral relationship with the firms covered. Proprietary trading challenges carry a fee that is generally non-refundable, most participants do not reach a funded account, and funded capital is the firm's capital, not the trader's. Terms change frequently — always verify current rules directly with the firm before paying any fee.
