DASH Snatches New CIO Steven Bonanno From Bloomberg Tradebook Inbox

The industry’s leading capital markets technology and execution provider has appointed Steven Bonanno as Chief Information Officer, who will be responsible for DASH’s I.T. infrastructure and technology platform operations and report directly to CEO Peter Maragos.

With more than 25 years’ experience working in the equities trading technology industry, Bonanno joins DASH from Bloomberg, where he served as Global Head of Risk Operations at the firm’s Tradebook agency brokerage business. He also led several key projects involving the transition of Tradebook from an executing agency broker model to that of a fintech provider.

As Chief Technology Officer at Direct Edge, he led the firm’s merger with ISE Stock Exchange and the launch of the EDGA and EDGX exchanges. Bonanno has also held senior technology positions at NASDAQ, BRUT ECN, MarketXT and Instinet.

Last year, DASH appointed the Bloomberg Tradebook President and CEO, Glenn Lesko, as Chief Growth Officer to drive the firm’s revenue growth objectives globally, both organically and inorganically. At the time, he was the latest executive hire made by the company after equity trading industry veteran Jamie Bogen being appointed Managing Director of Execution Services in April 2018.

In August 2018, Stino Milito rejoined Dash Financial as co-COO and, in November 2018, DASH hired Credit Suisse’s Head of Equity Product James Doherty to serve as Managing Director, Head of Equity Product.

Late last year, the firm announced the acquisition of eRoom Securities, eRoom Securities, LLC is a Chicago-based provider of prime brokerage solutions, which was rebranded Dash Prime.
