New Zealand based forex and CFD brokerage BlackBull markets have now hired a new executive to serve as Managing Director for its Chinese operations. The appointment was first revealed to the public via changes made to executive – Sophie Squillacioti’s LinkedIn profile. According to her profile, Sophie’s official designation at the firm is Managing Director for China and the APAC region.
Sophie is an industry veteran with nearly 15 years of experience, the majority of which she spent serving in financial firms based out of China. While the move was just made public, according to her profile, she has been serving at the firm since July 2019 after taking a short break post resigning from her previous job in late 2018. It should also be noted that Sophie is bringing along with her, some of her colleagues from previous firms who have worked a long time with her in her 15-year long career.
Prior to joining Black Bulls markets, Sophie served as Managing Director and Country Head for Greater China market region in Halifax Investment Services Limited for nearly 9 months from March to November 2018. Before Halifax, She served as Managing Director for ACM Group PLC where she handled their risk management, customized execution and liquidity service departments for OTC retail traders. Sophie started her career as Sales Associate for CBFX back in February 2004 and served at the firm for nearly 2 years. She then joined IFX Markets Ltd where she served as Vice President and Head of their Chinese market region for one and half years and then served as MD & Head of Sales at City Index focusing on China and APAC market region.
Sophie has described herself as an executive with vast knowledge and experience in the financial industry given her career in driving retail sales in China and APAC market region with a proven track record of bringing her firms record number of clients and channel partners be it a start-up or established an entrepreneurial business venture in her LinkedIn profile.
