Societe Generale Appoints Julien Lascar and Inhwan Oh as Head of Sales within Global Markets Division

Julien Lascar to lead the Head of Global Market SalesSociete Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) division on Wednesday announced the promotion of Julien Lascar to lead the Head of Global Market Sales division for Europe within the firm’s global markets division. In his new role, Lascar will be responsible for leading the business strategy across all asset classes in Europe with an additional charge of Head of Sales in individual countries within Europe. His role doesn’t include the responsibility of France.

He will report to Yann Garnier, Head of Sales for Global Markets and according to him, Lancer appointment will enable SG CIB to further enhance its position as a leading player in Europe. The new role will be based in London office, where he has been working since 2015 alongside members of  SG CIB’s FX team.

Lascar started his professional career in Societe Generale as an Associate-Legal Engineer in June 2003, from where he climbed various corporate ladders to the top. His experience also includes Managing Director- Head of Distribution and Equity Solutions Asia in Hong Kong and Director- Head of Latin America.

Along with Lascar, Inhwan Oh has been also promoted to Head of Global Market Sales for Asia-Pacific. According to the company release, Oh will play a crucial role in developing new businesses in Asia.

For Oh, this is the second promotion in three years and will give him a new set of responsibilities. Oh will report to Yann Garnier, as well as Jerome Niddam, SG CIB’s Head of Global Markets for Asia-Pacific.

Commenting on his appointment, Niddam said: “Oh has a “deep understanding of our clients’ needs” and will be able to “lead the commercial strategy” across the Asia-Pacific region.”
