SIX Digital Exchange Appoints Tim Grant as Head of Business

SIX Digital Exchange - Tim GrantThe SIX Digital Exchange has appointed Tim Grant as its new Head of Business and will be responsible to drive the organization’s next phase of growth as SDX continues to develop its fully integrated missuance, trading, settlement, and custody infrastructure for digital assets to serve financial institutions across global capital markets.

Grant is an experienced technology and management expert with more that 20 years across institutional capital markets and enterprise blockchain businesses, including senior positions in financial services such as CEO of the R3 Lab and Research Centre, Managing Director at UBS O’Connor and UBS Investment Bank. Most recently, he was the Founder and CEO of DrumG Technologies.

The SDX team has over 100 professionals working with banks and trusted partners to bring to market the first products and services that deliver business value to institutional clients. The platform is working to become a fully-regulated end-to-end DLT based digital asset exchange and aims to transform the financial services industry. Tim Grant will drive this vision, the company stated.

SIX Group first announced the launch of SIX Digital Exchange in early 2019, with plans of going live in the second of half of 2019. The blockchain-powered exchange runs in parallel to existing SIX platforms.

Most recently, the group partnered with Omniex for a gateway to digital exchanges (including cryptocurrency exchanges) and OTC market makers worldwide for SIX and its clients. As part of the agreement, SIX will become a shareholder in Omniex although the amount invested will remain undisclosed. The deal with Omniex will allow clients of SIX to get standardized and secure access to trade cryptocurrencies as well as create the basis for new business opportunities along the value chain of existing and future asset classes.
