Plus500 has announced the official launch of its new UAE subsidiary, Plus500Gulf Securities LLC, after securing a mainland license from the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA). The move signals the fintech group’s strengthened commitment to the UAE market and broader Gulf region, as it expands its regulatory footprint and operational presence.
The new SCA license allows Plus500 to broaden its outreach beyond the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), enabling expanded marketing activities and product offerings to customers across the UAE mainland. This includes the potential introduction of share dealing, futures, and options on futures in addition to its existing contracts for difference (CFD) products.
Plus500 Now Holds Both DFSA and SCA Licenses in the UAE
Plus500 said the license reinforces its long-term investment strategy in the UAE. The group has operated locally for two years under a Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) license. With the addition of the SCA approval, Plus500 becomes one of the few firms holding dual regulatory licenses in the country.
A spokesperson for the group said the launch of Plus500Gulf supports its goal to provide customized trading solutions to meet the needs of UAE-based clients. The company plans to leverage its proprietary technology to deliver an intuitive and secure trading experience adapted to regional preferences.
The expansion follows a strong year for the group, which reported total revenue of approximately $768 million in 2024. As of December 31, 2024, Plus500 held roughly $900 million in cash and reported no debt. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is included in the FTSE 250 and STOXX Europe 600 indexes.
Plus500 serves over 30 million registered customers in more than 60 countries and holds 14 international licenses. The launch of Plus500Gulf aligns with its broader strategy to maintain regulatory alignment while pursuing growth in key markets.
The company described the SCA license as an opportunity to build closer relationships with local traders and offer a more localized service that meets the UAE’s evolving financial landscape.
