Trading View, a company popular for providing online and social networking service for traders, also known across major markets for their professional trading and charting platforms has appointed Pierce Crosby as General Manager for their operations across the Americas (consisting entirety of both North and South America) region. In his post as GM, Crosby is expected to lead trading view’s business operations in the region which includes enterprise services, customer services, marketing events, and sales. Crosby is also expected to focus on fuelling the firm’s plans on expanding its operations in Europe and Asia. Prior to his appointment of General Manager in Trading View, he served as StockTwit’s director of business development. He worked at StockTwits for a period of 5 years scaling his way up from Business development associate to the director of business development and revenue strategy. StockTwit’s is a New York-based social media platform designed for sharing ideas between investors, traders and entrepreneurs and is widely known for its user-friendly nature which slightly mirrors social media network – Twitter.
Before StockTwits Crosby served as a mentor for several FinTech start-ups and Researcher at Reuters Breaking Views, a column of Thomson Reuters which was dedicatedly focused on the financial sector. According to his LinkedIn profile, Pierce holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political science from the University of California and a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. When speaking about his appointment as General Manager, Denis Globa, founder and CEO of Trading View, stated that: “Pierce understands global sales, go-to-market strategy, and customer satisfaction in a way that few in the investing space can hope to, and he’s got a proven track record of executing on that” which shows Globa’s confidence in expecting great things from Pierce on Americas operations. Pierce Crosby stated that with the development and acquisition of new technologies like Trade IT, Trading View team is well positioned to provide trading solutions in the ever-improving US market.
He also stated that “Having out-of-the-box solutions isn’t enough to address the fragmented trading technology space today and Trading View’s ability to work alongside partners to build better products really differentiates what they are doing for the industry”, when speaking about his new role GM at Trading View. Trading View is one of the few firms in the market today that provides a unique approach to retail investing. Their main product is a charting tool created to cater to data-driven investor community via a method that differs from other social trading networks with emphasis on visuals to support investing and provide communal space to view and share trading ideas. The firm also has a web store where the users can purchase access to third-party tools with increasing popularity as solutions offered by the firm are seeing increasing popularity owing to successful marketing. The firm has managed to market itself as a provider of smooth HTML5 chart that encompasses a wide array of diversified asset classes rather than as a trading platform despite providing both charting and trading services.
