Australia based forex trading service provider IC Markets now has a new General Manager. In a move that was first made public via changes made to the executive’s LinkedIn account, it was revealed that Mr. Nick Twidale has been appointed as the General Manager of IC Markets, a forex and CFD’s online trading service provider.
As per details in his profile, Mr. Twidale’s new role as General Manager began earlier this month and he is based out of the firm’s headquarters located in Sydney, Australia. Aside from his current role as General Manager of IC Markets, Mr. Twidale also seems to be serving as an advisory board member for Xchainge Global, a Sydney based fintech firm known for its platform which helps SME’s from financial institutions connect with international payments and finance network.
Nick has been a part of Xchainge Global’s board for seven months now. Prior to his term with the Sydney based fintech firm, he served as Chief Operating Officer for nearly three years at Rakuten Securities Australia – a forex and metals trading service provider. The firm is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rakuten Group and more popularly known in the market as one of the top retail FX brokers in the world.
During his term as COO at the firm, he was responsible for its day to day operations and also provided market analysis of the financial market across mainstream media on a regular basis while also frequently appearing on various business news tv channels to comment on the latest events and its impact on the market. Before Rakuten Securities, he served as Director and head of trading at T4T Capital.
Some of the other notable roles he has held in the early part of his career include – Forex trader at Commonwealth bank, Vice President and Senior Forex trader at RBC Capital Markets, Senior Sales Trader and Director of Forex unit at Newedge and Sales Manager at Iron FX. Earlier this year, the firm announced the appointment of Mr. Denys Denisov to the role of General Manager for its Cyprus office.
Denys similar to Mr. Twidale is also a veteran in the financial services industry with nearly 15 years of experience under his belt. The firm has been actively pursuing global expansion activities of late as its local business took a hit following ASIC’s move to mandate disclosure of overseas confidential client data from all financial institutions post which it had opted to migrate its overseas clients to offshore brand based out of Seychelles while also acquiring license from other global regulatory bodies to retain its clients.
