Nasdaq Nordic Appoints New Chairman and Two Members to its Board of Director

American stock exchange, Nasdaq has announced the appointment of new Chairman and two Non-Executive members of the Board of Nasdaq Nordic Ltd.

The exchange has appointed Peter Norman as its new Chairman and Carl Löfgren and Merja Karhapää other two Board members. Current Chairman of Nasdaq Nordic Lars Wedenborn has stepped down from the position in Board after serving for almost 9 years but will remain as a Board Director for Nasdaq, Inc. And, other two members Hans-Ole Jochumsen and Anne Leppälä-Nilsson also stepped down to make way for the new appointees. 

Peter Norman has over three decades of experience in the financial services industry and of the Swedish economy. He has served as a Minister for Financial Markets for the Swedish government and CEO of Seventh Public Pension Fund, AP7, and Director of the Central Bank of Sweden. For taking up the role as Chairman, he is leaving his current assignment in the Nasdaq Nordic Listing Committee.

Other two member, Carl Löfgren has a background of management consultancy and is Investment Manager at Investor AB. He has extensive experience in the financial sector and private equity.

Merja Karhapää is from the Legal background and is  Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary of Sanoma Group. She has experience in managing Board level responsibilities which she gained from her previous assignments in small listed and non-listed companies.
