Mark Hemsley joins TP ICAP as Non Executive Director

Karthik Subramanian has been a professional trader and fund manager over the last 18 years. He is basically a software developer who made the transition to financial domain around 18 years back as the attractiveness of the financial markets proved too much for him. He lives in Chennai in India along with his wife and son. He began his career as a software developer in 1999 and then gradually moved into the financial industry as he began trading stocks in his pastime. He then moved into the financial markets full time and then shifted his focus to the FX markets due to the liquid nature of these markets. Since then, he has been trading FX diligently and his favourite pair are the EURUSD and EURJPY. Over the last couple of years, he has found blockchain to be of high interest and considering his background in software and finance, he has since assembled a team of highly talented developers who have since worked on a variety of projects like crypto exchanges and blockchain architecturing. Now, he balances his time between trading and commenting on both the FX and crypto markets. He has worked with many publications including FX Street and Finance Magnates, which has helped him gain experience and also recognition across the industry. He loves to write and this passion has helped him to reach out across the FX and crypto industry. Right now, he works on his pet projects in the FX and crypto industry and spends his time writing and managing his blockchain team and helping it to reach higher.


Mark Hemsley joins TP ICAP as Non Executive Director

TP ICAP - Mark HemsleyTP ICAP, the UK based leading interdealer broker announced the addition of another non-executive director to its board members in its latest announcement. As per statement released by the firm, it has on-boarded Mr. Mark Hemsley as its latest board member in the role of non-executive director. It should be noted that this announcement comes less than a month from the firm’s addition of Ms. Angela Crawford as its Non-Executive Director. Another similarity between both these executives is that Mr. Hemsley will also be joining as a member of TP ICAP’s Audit, Risk & Nominations and Governance Committees alongside Ms. Angela. Mr. Hemsley is a veteran in financial services industry and is a well known and respected individual in the European financial market owing to his instrumental role and contributions in helping transform and shape Europe’s equity market over the last decade.

Mark entered European financial services market as the founder of the first pan-European equities exchange which was launched in 2007. He became a part of BATS Global Markets when the firm agreed to buy Chi-X Europe for 300 Million USD post which it was merged with BATS Europe and re-branded as BATS Chi-X Europe in February of 2011. Mark then became a member of CBOE when the US-based marketplace provider and exchange operator decided to acquire BATS Global Markets in 2016 for US$ 3.2 Billion. He resigned from his roles as President of CBOE Europe & Executive Vice President of CBOE Global Markets at end of February cutting all ties with the US exchange operator and is set to take on his new role with the UK based financial service provider from 16th March 2020. Mr. Hemsley will be succeeded on both of his roles by Mr. David Howson who has been with CBOE Europe since 2013 and had been serving in the role of Chief Operating Officer.
