Lucian Lauerman, global head of electronic distribution at Saxo bank has quit is role at the Danish bank to join New York based forex broker OANDA Corporation as its Head of Solutions for Business. The move was first made public via changes made to the executive’s LinkedIn profile. Lucian has been serving as part of the Danish bank for nearly seven years having joined the firm back in September of 2012 in the role of Head of API Business and was promoted to his most recent role as global head of electronic distribution in January of 2017. However, this is not his first rodeo with Danish bank as he previously did a brief stint at the bank earlier in his career when he served as Global Product Manager of Forex division for nearly two years. During his recent stint with Danish Bank, he played a major role in building its POP offering and business on a global scale.
Lauerman capitalized on growing demand for the service from small to mid-sized institutional clients who turned to the bank for its direct market access and liquidity optimization services. As part of his efforts to build up the POP offering, he also helped improve support of dedicated infrastructure DMA liquidity hubs which were based out of London and New York. Prior to Saxo Bank, he has served in several other major banking and financial service providers during his twenty three year long career. Prior to his most recent tenure with Saxo Bank, he served as part of UK based banking and financial service provider Lloyds Banking Group for nearly three years. Lucian joined the firm as eProduct Director in February of 2010 and was promoted to the role of Head of eProduct Management back in March of 2011.
He started his career as an Intern at Promar International post graduating with Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Saint Joseph’s University. Aside from his long term at Saxo Bank, he spent a major part of his career at FNX Limited where he served for nearly ten years in the roles of Senior Consultant and Executive Director. He also served as Managing Director for London & Northern European region at GL Trade –Capital Markets Solutions. In his new role as Head of Business Solutions, Lucian will be based out of the forex broker’s London office and will be in-charge of technical leadership across all areas of the firm’s business. While based out of New York, the forex brokerage is a multi-regulated broker with offices in Toronto, Europe & Asia-Pacific market regions. The broker has gone through several major changes to its leadership & management team this year including resignation of Kazuaki Takabatake, Vatsa Narasimha former Chief executive officers and appointment of Gavin Bambury as CEO of OANDA Group.
