LSEG Announces Changes to Key Board Appointments

London Stock Exchange Group revealed in its latest statement that it has onboarded Mr. Denzil Jenkins as its interim CEO. Following a recent announcement from HM Treasury in the UK announcing Mr. Nikhil Rathi as CEO of UK FCA, LSEG came up with an announcement revealing the interim successor for Mr. Rathi as it searches for Nikhil’s successor. Denzil Jenkins will take on the role of interim Chief Executive Officer for the London Stock Exchange Plc effective immediately.

While Mr. Rathi takes on his role at FCA in autumn, the firm has appointed a successor with immediate effect in order to ensure a smooth transition of power and responsibilities.

The announcement from the firm also revealed that the LSEG board has appointed Mr. Michael Findlay as the Non-Executive Chairman of LSE effective from 24th June 2020. Both the executives have been a part of LSE Group for a while now and are seasoned veterans having spent several decades serving in the key roles in the financial services industry. 

Mr. Jenkins currently serves as Head of Group Compliance for LSEG, having held the role for 10 months aside from his new role as interim CEO of LSE plc. He has also been serving as Director of FTSE international at FTSE Russell and as Director at LSE Plc for a couple of years now. Jenkins joined LSE in 2012 as Head of Compliance and Regulation and was promoted to the role of Chief of Staff in 2016 and then to the role of Director in 2013. He became the head of compliance for the whole LSE Group less than a year ago having taken up the role in September of 2019. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Regulations at Chi-X Europe and Manager at FCA.

He spent the biggest part of his career serving in Deutsche bank as one of its Directors for 1990-2002 as per information in his LinkedIn profile. Meanwhile, Mr. Findlay, who joins the firm as Non-Executive Chairman also serves as Non-Executive Director and Chairman of Audit and Risk Committee at Royal Mail Plc and as Chairman of Morgan Sindall Group Plc. 

Commenting on his new role at the firm, Mr. Findlay said, “I am delighted to be joining London Stock Exchange Plc’s board as the Non-Executive Chair. I look forward to working with the board and executive team to continue to develop the business for the future”. 

Speaking about Michael’s addition to the team, Don Robert – Chairman of LSEG said, “I would like to welcome Michael to the Group as Chairman of London Stock Exchange Plc. His extensive capital markets and board-level experience will enable him to offer valuable insights to the London Stock Exchange’s executive team and board as it continues to develop its business”.
