John Woods Joins Zenus Bank as Chief Marketing Officer

Zenus Bank, a Puerto Rico headquartered digital banking service provider revealed the appointment of new executive to its senior level management team. As per statement released by the firm, it has onboarded Mr. John Woods to serve as its Chief Marketing Officer effective immediately. The digital bank facilitates its clients to open US based bank accounts regardless of their home location. Be it an individual or a business from any part of the world, signing up with Zenus bank would allow them to gain access to a bank account located in USA. At the moment, the bank is primarily focusing on emerging markets to build its international client base. In his new role as Chief of Marketing division at the firm, Mr. Woods is responsible for overseeing its global marketing strategy, advertising and sponsorship operations and is also responsible for helping the firm with launch of its new online only banking unit and customer acquisition.

The incoming executive is a season veteran with nearly two decades of experience in marketing operations having served in some of industry leading brands. Woods was brought into the team at a crucial time as the firm is focusing all its efforts towards launching American digital banking which offers retail and corporate US checking accounts to global market. Mr. Woods will serve from the firm’s London office and report directly to CEO – Jose A Diaz-Ortiz. Aside from his current role at the bank, he is also serving as a Director at Nichol Woods having held the role for nearly 8 months now. Prior to taking up his current role at Zenus bank, he served as interim CMO & Managing Director at Zellis UK for nearly one and a half years. Some of his other notable roles from earlier in his career include – Digital Marketing Director at Samsung Electronics, Global Head of Digital at CMC Markets, Global Head of Ecommerce at Alpari (UK) Ltd, Head of Marketing at Quidco and Head of Online Business at Barclays Bank.

John began his career as a Sales Manager at Marketing Magazine – Haymarket Media Group and moved on to Barclays bank shortly afterwards and served in the bank for nearly 7 years. He joined the bank as Proposition and Strategy Manager and was promoted twice during his term there to roles of national marketing manager and Head of Business Online.
