Karthik Subramanian has been a professional trader and fund manager over the last 18 years. He is basically a software developer who made the transition to financial domain around 18 years back as the attractiveness of the financial markets proved too much for him. He lives in Chennai in India along with his wife and son. Barclays Plc Hired Former Citibank Executive Pratap Gill to Strengthen the Group’s FX Franchise in the Asia Pacific Region

barclaysBarclays Plc has strengthened its FX franchise in Asia-Pacific region with the appointment of Citibank’s Pritpal Gill. In his new role, Gill will lead the sales team to develop and drive the G10 FX trading strategy in the region and will be based out of Singapore. He will report to the head of Barclays, head of FX trading in Asia, Guillermo Cabeza, and also to Paul Thirlwall, global head of FX options.

Mr. Pratap Gill has over two decades of experience in the FX space, and started his career with Citibank London where he traded vanilla and exotic FX options. Most recently he has served as a Macro Prop trader with trades including global FX, Asian rates and equity indices. In his career, he has also worked with the Lehman Brothers as global head of FX options trading.

Commenting on the appointment, Fabio Madar, Barclays’ global head of G10 FX trading said:

“These appointments are further testament that we steadily pursue excellence in both derivatives and electronic solutions for our clients in the Asia Pacific. They also highlight the top senior talent that Barclays is able to attract. FX really represents an incredible opportunity for Barclays.”

 Global Market Index Appoints Former Pepperstone UK CEO Iain Rogers as its New COO

FCA regulated institutional FX and CFD broker Global Market Index (GMI) has tapped Pepperstone UK CEO Iain Rogers as its new Chief Operating Officer. Rogers will report to John Taylor who will take a Group-Level position.
