IG Group, one of the leading online trading platforms in European market revealed the appointment of new executive to its senior level leadership team. As per update from the firm, it has appointed Ms. Joanna Nayler to serve as its first Chief Legal and Governance officer. Joanna’s new role at the UK based firm is effective immediately and she will be based at firm’s headquarters in London and report directly to June Felix- Chief Executive Officer for IG Group Holdings Plc. The incoming executive is a legal and risk management specialist and a veteran with more than two decades of experience in financial services industry. Prior to taking up her new role with IG Group, she served as General Counsel for Just Group Plc.
She was originally a General Counsel at PA group having joined the firm back in 2013 but became a member of Just Group following the merger between PA & Just Groups in 2016. Aside from Legal and Risk management, Ms. Nalyer is also an expert in corporate governance, merger & acquisitions and securities and transactional work. Prior to her term with PA Group, she served as Principal Legal Counsel for Accident & Health/Life and Personal Lines at ACE European Group for nearly 4 years and before that she served as European legal and compliance manager at Combined Insurance for one year. Some of her other notable roles from earlier in her career include – Senior Claims Underwriter at Hiscox, Solicitor at Clyde & Co – London and Eversheds LLP. Joanna started her career in financial services industry post graduating from University of Birmingham with a post graduate diploma in advanced litigation.
