Global Reach Group, a UK based leading provider of corporate and personal forex trading services has revealed the addition of a new member to its senior management team. As per the statement released by the firm, it has onboarded Mr. Tim Watson to serve as the head of its global technology unit effective immediately.
The incoming executive boasts a 15-year long career history as an IT and technology specialist. Tim is also interested in fintech and payments verticals. Most recently, he served as Interim Chief Information Security Officer at WorldFirst having held the role for nearly six months. Tim had been a part of WorldFirst for nearly 11 years during which he climbed his way up the firm’s internal hierarchy.
Mr. Watson joined the firm as a Full Stack Developer in November of 2009 post which he was promoted to the role of Back office platform lead and infrastructure manager in January of 2011. He took on his first senior-level leadership role as Global Head of IT unit in the firm in May of 2013 during which he was responsible for all of the firm’s engineering & technology operations and information security.
He then took on the role of Deputy Chief of Technology in February of 2017 post which he took on the most recent role of interim CISO in February of 2020 as per information in his LinkedIn profile. Tim began his career as an independent IT/Web Contractor in March – 2005 after finishing his PhD in Computational Chemistry from the University of Nottingham. Tim’s addition to the team comes as part of the firm’s growth-focused strategy aimed at driving innovation in payments technology vertical across the global market.
It should be noted that the firm has recently undertaken a hiring spree during which it onboarded several of its current key leadership and management personnel. Some of the most notable hired include – Tim Rudman as Chief Operating Officer earlier in 2020 and Alistair Seabright – Chairman, Brett Flowers – Chief Financial Officer, Ian Robison as Non-Executive Director in late 2019.
