Gianna Abegg Appointed as Legal Counsel for Cardano Foundation

Switzerland based Cardano Foundation, one of the three companies which contribute to development of crypto coin Cardano has made yet another addition to its firm this month. While earlier this month, Cardano announced that it had appointed Bakyt Azimkanov as Director of its Global PR, Communications and Marketing operations, it has now revealed that it has appointed Gianna Abegg as its new legal counsel effective immediately. As per the announcement made by the firm, the decision to hire Gianna was taken in line with its international expansion plans. Given that both Bakyt and Gianna are equipped with knowledge and experience to handle international markets, it shows their commitment towards expanding their international market share at a really fast pace.

As per announcement made by the firm, in her new role as Legal Counsel Gianna will be handling roles from both Zug and Zurich offices in Switzerland and will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal and compliance operations and is also expected to support the firm in its growth plans by streamlining its structural framework. Abegg is a native of Zurich and is a highly capable international lawyer who has been a part of bar in her home city and is a veteran in legal industry with nearly 15 years of experience. Having graduated from University of Zurich with a master’s degree in law, Abegg spent the first half of her career in Switzerland serving in capacity of legal trainee and clerk and also did a short residency at San Francisco. Post residency program, she moved on to China where she spent nearly 9 years focusing on digital economy, corporate transaction and cross-border investments making her highly knowledgeable in financial laws from major global economies.

Prior to her current role at Cardano Foundation, she served as VP of board of directors & national representative and as head of legal committee at Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Commenting on Gianna’s appointment as Cardano Foundation’s legal counsel, Nathan Kaiser, Chairperson of the crypto firm commented, “The Cardano Foundation continues to grow internationally and to bring value across different industries.
