Funded Academy review: 12-hour reward vs a 24-hour FAQ

Prop-firm review

Funded Academy

Verdict Funded Academy suits a CFD trader who can live with a simulated book, a mandatory stop on every trade, and a two-week reward cycle after the first request. It does not suit anyone who needs the homepage's 12-hour reward line to be the rule, or who wants overnight holding on a 1-Step funded account. The biggest caveat is the clock. The homepage says performance rewards in 12 hours. The payout FAQ, read on 7 October 2026, says payouts are processed within 24 hours. The firm publishes no audited payout total.

Verdict: Funded Academy suits a CFD trader who can live with a simulated book, a mandatory stop on every trade, and a two-week reward cycle after the first request.

On 7 October 2026 the homepage still said that all trading takes place in a simulated environment using virtual funds and live market data. It still offered a first performance reward on demand, a split of up to 95%, and "Performance Rewards in 12 Hours". The payout FAQ matches the on-demand line and not the 12 hours.

Key terms

  • Challenge fee: no dollar figure is in the FAQ or in the February 2026 terms read through the opening of section 12.2, which call it a one-time fee that varies by programme. The billing FAQ refunds it within 7 days only if no trade has been placed.
  • Account sizes: $5,000 to $100,000 on 1-Step, and $5,000 to $200,000 on 2-Step, per the general FAQ. Allocation is capped at $300,000 before scaling and at $1,000,000 after it.
  • Profit split: 85% on 1-Step and 80% on 2-Step. Up to 95% is a scaling outcome, not the opening share. Payout FAQ.
  • Profit target: 10% on 1-Step; 7% then 5% on 2-Step, per the challenge-rules FAQ. No target once funded, per the payout FAQ.
  • Maximum drawdown, on the challenge only: 8% trailing on 1-Step, moving up with new highs; 10% overall on 2-Step, fixed from the starting balance, and no trailing drawdown on balance. The account-conditions FAQ does not restate the funded stage.
  • Daily loss: 4% on 1-Step and 5% on 2-Step. A breach fails the challenge. The funded-stage daily limit is not restated there.
  • Payout timing: first request on demand, then a two-week cycle that starts with the first trade. Minimum $100. Processing within 24 hours, by cryptocurrency or RISE, in USD.
  • Minimum trading days: 4 per phase. No time limit, and no consistency rule, per the general FAQ.

The 12-hour line is not the FAQ clock

The challenge-rules FAQ says the funded account is issued typically within up to 12 hours after KYC. The payout FAQ says processing is within 24 hours. The homepage does not say which clock "Performance Rewards in 12 Hours" means, or what a miss costs.

CMC Funded shows an 80% split, and version 2.1 of its terms, dated 1 October 2026, says no reward can be requested until a payout policy exists. Alpine Funded lets a Base Camp trader request a payout at 5%, then holds the first and second amounts until a third withdrawal unless an add-on was bought.

What Funded Academy publishes about payouts

The opening share is 85% or 80%, not 95%. The scaling FAQ adds 40% at each step, moves the risk limits in proportion, and may lift the split to 95%. The test is 10% growth over four consecutive months, three rewards in that period, and a profitable latest cycle.

There is no funded profit target. The first request is on demand, at a $100 minimum, and later cycles last two weeks from the first trade. The named rails are cryptocurrency and RISE. That page states no dollar cap and no share of profit that must stay in the account. A challenge can be bought again at a fixed 10% discount, which does not stack. A funded account cannot be reset.

What could not be verified: a dollar fee for any size, because the price selector was not in the HTML retrieved; an audited rewards total; a pass rate; and whether "within 24 hours" runs from the request, the cycle end, or approval. The 2026 payout comparison found the same gap. No payment was matched here.

Funded Academy was founded on a belief I hold strongly: trading is not defined by profit alone, but by discipline, consistency, and personal responsibility.

Sal Azad, founder and chief executive, on the about page. No named trader's post, and no order from a regulator, was on the pages opened.

Rules that close the account

Those loss limits are written for the challenge, and the account-conditions FAQ does not say they continue once the account is funded. On 1-Step the 8% trail moves up with new highs. On 2-Step the 10% line stays fixed, with no trailing drawdown on balance.

Standard and Pro Flex split at the close. The trading-rules FAQ allows overnight holding on every challenge, but on a funded account only on Pro Flex. Every 1-Step account is Standard, so that funded book must be flat overnight. Weekend holding exists only on Pro Flex inside the 2-Step model. Support can convert a funded Pro Flex account to Standard. That change is not automatic, and Standard cannot become Pro Flex.

News is free on challenges. On a funded account a trade must not be opened within 2 minutes before or 2 minutes after a high-impact event, and the page names no calendar for that label. A stop is compulsory on every trade. Also barred: a VPS, expert advisors, copy trading, account sharing, hedging, grid and high-frequency trading, tick scalping, latency arbitrage and account rolling. Profit from a pricing glitch may be voided. There is no consistency rule and no deadline to pass. Thirty idle days end the account, and a VPN or a foreign login can deny a payout. Several trading accounts are allowed. They cannot be merged.

Leverage covers both stages: forex 1:30, 1:100 and 1:50 on 1-Step Standard, 2-Step Standard and Pro Flex; indices 1:5, 1:15 and 1:7; commodities 1:10, 1:15 and 1:7; crypto 1:1 everywhere. Commissions are $5 a lot on forex and commodities, zero on indices, and 0.04% a lot on crypto. Pro Flex has no separate profit target on the challenge-rules page.

How the published limits compare

Funded Academy's FAQ, read on 7 October 2026, against two firms already reviewed here. TradersYard evaluates futures, so the row compares the withdrawal rule, not a ranking.

CMC Funded's cells are from the 6 October 2026 review of its product pages and version 2.1 of the terms. TradersYard's are from the 5 October 2026 review of its futures FAQ and payout page. Funded Academy prints no dollar cap, no half-profit gate, and no audited total.

Who operates Funded Academy

The February 2026 terms name Funded Academy Ltd., registration number 2025-00736, at Office No. 2, Seaview Crescent, Cap Estate, Gros Islet, Saint Lucia. That number is the site's own text. A registry extract was not opened. The firm says it is not a broker, investment advisor, financial institution, custodian or exchange, and that fees are service fees, not client money. No FCA, NFA or CFTC licence number is on the pages read. The forbidden list includes the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Section 7.2 also says the user must be at least 18 and must not qualify as a retail trader.

The general FAQ says trading is simulated and is not real market execution. Section 11.2 says evaluation funds are fictitious. The definitions say a trader who passes may trade using company capital. Retrieved HTML stops at the opening of section 12.2, so a later clause that might reconcile those lines was not read. The operative public line is the simulated book. The platform vendor is not named. KYC follows a pass: a passport, national identity card or residence permit is accepted, and a driving licence is not.

Frequently asked questions

Does Funded Academy pay rewards in 12 hours?

The homepage says performance rewards in 12 hours. The payout FAQ says processing is within 24 hours. The first request is on demand, with a $100 minimum. Issuing the account is separate, typically within up to 12 hours after KYC. The banner does not say which clock it means, and no withdrawal was timed here.

Is the funded account live capital?

The homepage says the book is simulated, using virtual funds and live market data. The general FAQ says there is no real market execution, and the terms call evaluation funds fictitious. A definitions clause mentions company capital after a pass, but the later clauses were not in the HTML retrieved. Treat the balance as simulated.

What will fail the account?

On the challenge, 4% daily or 8% trailing fails 1-Step, and 5% daily or 10% fixed overall fails 2-Step. Every trade needs a stop. A funded account may not open inside two minutes before or after a high-impact release. Hedging, automation, copying or a VPN can end the account or the payout. Thirty idle days terminate it.

Can a 1-Step funded account be held overnight?

No. Overnight holding is allowed on every challenge, but on a funded account only on Pro Flex. The trading-rules FAQ says every 1-Step account is Standard, so it must be flat overnight once funded. Weekend holding is Pro Flex inside the 2-Step model only. Standard cannot be upgraded to Pro Flex.

Is Funded Academy regulated?

The pages read show no financial-services licence. They name Funded Academy Ltd. in Saint Lucia, registration number 2025-00736, and say the firm is not a broker, advisor, custodian or exchange. That number was not checked on a registry extract. The United Kingdom, the United States and Canada are forbidden territories. A company entry is not permission to hold client money.
