Ledger has partnered with FTX to make the latter’s liquidity, leverage and trading options accessible through Ledger’s secure self-custody application, Ledger Live.
The integration allows Ledger Live users in 150 countries to trade across 300 digital asset pairs, combined with low fees and the knowledge that they are completely in control of their funds.
FTX Founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, said: “This is an important innovation in crypto trading. Investors are looking for increased security and self-custody solutions without sacrificing liquidity, leverage and trading options. The partnership between FTX and Ledger addresses this pain point for the marketplace, by providing quick access to trading while assets remain fully secure.”
Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier, commented: “Ledger is the #1 choice for serious crypto investors. More than 15% of all crypto assets are secured by the more than 4 million Ledger Nanos sold since 2014. In the past, they would need to move their assets to an exchange, trade, and move back again. Now serious traders and investors can do everything right from the security of their Ledger Nano.”
FTX and Ledger have come together to solve the dilemma surrounding the accessibility and security of digital assets and the negative correlation between those two criteria.
With this partnership, users will no longer have to worry about that and will be able to trade from the FTX exchange with confidence that their assets are secure with Ledger technology.
Ledger Live will feature more than 300 trading pairs, but the companies will share more information about how this partnership will manifest in the coming weeks.
The US operation of FTX has recently appointed former CFTC Commissioner Mark Wetjen to lead its public affairs efforts as Head of Policy and Regulatory Strategy.
The US-regulated cryptocurrency exchange wants to become the market leading US cryptocurrency exchange by volume over the next two years.
Such ambitious goals are only possible if the company is well oiled and versed in terms of compliance in a time when the regulatory bodies in the United States are still enforcing more than providing clarity, especially the Securities and Exchange Commission.
With Mark Wetjen leading the firm’s communications with U.S. regulatory and legislative bodies, such as the CFTC, SEC and various House and Senate Committees, FTX US will make sure it is regarded as a top exchange operator within the digital asset industry.
