The Federal Reserve Board on August 23, 2018, announced it will host Exploring Careers in Economics, a live event for high school and college students, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on October 19, 2018. Organized to broaden awareness of careers in economics and to further develop a diverse pool of talent interested in the field, Exploring Careers in Economics will offer students a chance to learn about and discuss opportunities in economics generally, and learn about career paths within the Federal Reserve System. Diversity is a critical aspect of all successful organizations, and the Federal Reserve recognizes the value of a diverse workforce at all levels.
In addition to welcoming students to the Board in Washington, students from around the country will participate in this event via webcast. The agenda for the live event includes a discussion of why inclusion and diversity matter for economics. Research assistants and economists at the Board will discuss why they chose careers in economics and will share their experience charting a career in this dynamic field.
Students will also learn about mentoring opportunities, resources, and career opportunities in the Federal Reserve System.

Exploring Careers in Economics will be held at the Board’s Wilson Conference Center in Washington, D.C., and webcast live at www.federalreserve.gov and on YouTube.
