Deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions increased

Deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions increased as per the Balance Sheet of Monetary Financial Institutions, July 2019

Today, the Bank of Lithuania published the MFI balance sheet for July 2019, which shows that deposits of Lithuanian residents with credit institutions rose by €306.7 million over the month. Non-financial corporation, household, general government and financial sector deposits increased by €164.9 million, €77.7 million, €62.4 million and €1.7 million respectively. Overnight deposits from Lithuanian households and non-financial corporations with credit institutions increased by €144.1 million and €60.6 million respectively over the month. Loans granted by credit institutions to Lithuanian residents decreased by €0.3 million over the month. Loans to Lithuanian non-financial corporations, financial and general government sector decreased by €66.4 million, €7.9 million and €3.8 million respectively, while loans to households increased by €77.8 million. Loans to Lithuanian households for house purchase, consumption and other purposes increased by €59.2 million, €6.2 million and €12.5 million respectively.
