, New York based forex trading serving provider recently revealed in an announcement that it has made a new addition to its APAC region senior level leadership team. As per statement released by the firm it has hired Mr. David Grant an accomplished financial services executive with two decades of experience to serve as Chief Operating Officer for its APAC division. Mr. Grant has served under several major industries leading banking and financial services providers and is an expert in capital markets, cash equities, forex, options, futures and other derivative instruments and has extensive experience in handling clients from Europe, US and Asian market regions. It should be noted that this announcement is a bit delayed as Mr. Grant’s LinkedIn profile states that he joined the firm and took on his new role as APAC COO earlier this year in the month of September and is based out of the firm’s Singapore office.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific market region, David is responsible for overseeing the company’s administrative and operational functions and will also focus on enhancing the efficiency off the business. Before joining OANDA, David served as Chief Operating Officer for APAC region at another US based financial service provider GAIN Capital also based out of Singapore and held the role for nearly 4 years and as CEO of City Index’s Singapore office earlier in his career before it was acquired by Gain Capital. In between his term at City Index and Gain Capital, he served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for OptionsXpress, a wholly owned subsidiary of Charles Schwab for five and a half years. Earlier in his career, he has served under other industry leading banking and trading service providers Goldman Sachs, E*Trade Financial and Credit Suisse as part of their compliance team and consultant/analyst.
Commenting on his new role at the firm, Mohsin Siddiqui, Managing Director for Asia Pacific and Americas region said, “An accomplished financial services professional, David brings with him an extraordinary knowledge of the industry landscape. His extensive experience in trading, operations and management will be invaluable as we look to further grow the business in Asia Pacific”.
It should be noted that OANDA has seen several major changes to its C-Level management and leadership team over the course of this year and some of these notable changes include – appointment of Mr. Mark Chesterman as Head of Trading and Mr. Lucian Lauerman as Head of Solutions for Business with both executives reporting to Mr. Kurt Vom Scheidt, who took on the role of COO alongside his other responsibilities earlier this year. Also in October this year, Kazuaki Takabatake – CEO for APAC region stepped down from his role and was succeeded by Mr. Moshin Siddiqui as interim CEO until suitable replacement is appointed.
